Let me start by saying that I prefer a different style of BBQ, so for me it was average quality and taste. However I loved the worn-in comfortable ambiance of the place. Overall I’d give it 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

For a simple bbq that has an old school feel to it. This place is great. You can smell the amazing food as soon as you step out of your car in the parking lot. It’s counter service, which I think is perfect. The food was amazing. I’m definitely coming back to try the pulled pork that they only serve on certain days.

Thursday and Saturday are pulled pork days. I am happy I came on a Saturday. The pulled pork was delicious. This was the first time I have ever had it with coleslaw, and it was the best! I ordered fries and macaroni salad as my sides. They fry up the fries right in front of you. The fries and sandwich were both tasty. The macaroni salad was not bad, I’m just not a fan of this type of salad.

Great, fast, friendly service. The macaroni salad was very good. The Cole slaw was great. My pulled pork sandwich was good. The BBQ was not good at all. Heartbreaker!

If you like ketchup instead of genuine BBQ sauce, underportioned side dishes and a grumpy old man, then this is your this place–but it’s not mine, no thank you.
I would appreciate it if there didn’t grab the plastic wear with their fingers after using the till and throw the fork and knife INSIDE of the take-out box mixed in with the food that is disgusting–I had to fish them out of the soupy baked beans.

Best restaurant ever!!! We live in Lemon Grove. The drive is always worth it. I love their sauce! The only problem is smelling our order all the way home! Best BBQ in Southern Ca.
