We decided to stay and give Saladita Taqueria a try ♀️
It was awesome I had an incredible tasting mango tea .. the two of us sampled the queso with chips ..along with the blackened grouper tacos The food was amazing…the entire experience was ! Y’all give them a try! You’ll want to go back I know that we will.
I liked the carnitas taco
The carnitas taquitos
The elote ribs were good
The rice and beans were yummy (it’s red beans, maybe kidney? and spanish rice)
Guacamole was delish
Birria was okay- too sweet and cinnamon-y for my liking
I disliked the carne asada taco – it disappointed me because this is such a classic. For me, it was over garnished and not what one would normally expect
However, I am not from Texas, so maybe it’s a tex-mex thing?
I did not like the grouper taco- I thought the fish was spoiled but my husband said it was perfect (I trust him ). I guess I just don’t like how the fish is prepared here.
One thing to note is that there is a sweetness to every taco I mentioned. Come in expecting that.
Our server Wayne was awesome! So pleasant and friendly! What a pro!
Very trendy and cute ambiance. colorful, plays homage to Tex-Mex. Adorable
My personal favorite was the birria tacos and their elote ribs.
Here is my story hoping it’s helpful for management or owners.
I sat alone at the bar while the only server ate her food at the register and watched her phone instead of bringing over water or anything. She finally brought water over when it was time to take my order.
I ordered 2 tacos and street corn. After the street corn arrived she placed it on the bar and immediately walked away to keep watching her phone. I had to use a loud voice to get her attention to get silverware.
After dropping off my two chicken tacos, again immediately walked away about asking if anything else is needed. Chicken tacos were lightly seasoned served on a corn tortilla. The tortilla had not been toasted or warmed at all, so was not tasty. As soon as I finished my two tacos she walked over for me to pay my bill again, without asking if anything else was needed or wanted. Literally as I am currently writing this I am finishing my half full beverage, however have already paid my bill.
To make the atmosphere uncomfortable, the air conditioner behind me is blowing full blast room temperature air. The temperature inside the restaurant right now is in the high 70s, so hot and musty.
Hopefully the appropriate changes will be made to the food, service, and atmosphere.
I ordered two burritos and spent 44.45. Now there’s no issue with that, if the burritos were large enough to where I couldn’t eat two back to back without being full still. I even got double meat in one of them, suspecting it would be too small and it was exactly the same size as my wife’s burrito that did not have “double meat”.
By the way they add a mandatory 20% gratuity on pickup orders. I’m not sure if it’s only for online orders but how does tipping for an online pickup order make any sense? I got no service? Not just bad service, I’m sure the service is great… I got no service. What’s the tip for? The prices are already high. Can you not pay your employees enough to not charge me automatic 20% gratuity.
I promise I’m not a Karen. I almost exclusively write positive reviews. Like I said, the food is fantastic, so if money is no object to you, you will really enjoy this place. If money is object to you, I recommend Dat Burrito or Don Pedros if you don’t want to go to Destin.
Carne Asada tacos were killer!
I also had the lime marinated chicken on nacho fries. Ate way too much but couldn’t stop.
I like that all the wines are from Spain. Went with the Sauvignon Blanc which was perfect in this beach weather.
