Second time here, the bartender Samia was super nice and explained very well the dishes.
I had the 2 taco plate, I chose the brisket and the pulled pork. The pulled pork was very good, moist and a good portion. The brisket was good, a little fatty at times but the flavor was great.
They have a lot of choices for beer on tap and bottles, I didn’t have any wine but the list looked great too.
I will come back soon.

The food was good, atmosphere was inviting I would bring my kid here. We got a platter for two but it was enough food for four. The potato salad was awesome and if your looking for a great fresh dessert. This is the place to come.

I stopped by just because I saw a BBQ place in the area. I was going to try the half chicken but the server suggested the brisket. I had the brisket sandwich. It was cubed, not sliced. The meat was tender and juicy. I could taste the smoke and that’s pretty good. This is a restaurant, meaning you sit at a table and your order is taken. There is a full service bar when you walk in the door. It’s worth a try. I enjoyed it.

This place was okay. I enjoyed the aesthetic that the inside gave off. The service was excellent. I thought for the price, the food was lacking a little. Was hoping for more mix and match bbq selections rather than limited meal choices.

Super good experience tonight at beach pit with the family. Finally a place that doesn’t seem to have ‘shrinkflation’-we got TONS of delicious food in our meat sampler plate for a great price and the waitresses were super attentive and kind to our two little kids. It was super empty so I’m leaving this review in hopes that a solid place like this is able to stick around so we can keep enjoying such delicious food!

The Beach Pit BBQ in south county is in a non-descript strip mall near Alicia and Crown Valley. We have a serious shortage of good food in this area. Tons of chain and OK places, but for a truly great experience you need to stop in here. A friendly wait staff, nice atmosphere and the most important part – great food. The BBQ style is not super smoked (like a famous place in San Juan) so you can really taste the food. I love BBQ that is not pre-sauced and the on-table sauce selections are both really good. For a culinary experience give the sampler plate a try. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Their to-go business is quite busy but it’s totally worth making a date night here. This was our third visit and we will be back for more!

A bonus:
Daily happy hour from 3-6PM with off menu small bites that are really tasty and affordable. (like the nachos in the pic below – you have to try them to understand. Probably the best nachos I’ve ever had).

PS:
I don’t understand why this is not at least a solid 4 or more star place. Trust me it’s that good and we need places like this to stay in South OC.

My first experience (and last) at Beach Pit BBQ off Alicia Parkway in Laguna Niguel left much to be desired, and I doubt I’ll be returning.
Walking into the restaurant, everything seemed promising. The ambiance was inviting, surpassing our expectations. The bartender greeted us warmly and allowed us to choose our seating. Our drink order was taken promptly, and everything appeared to be on the right track.
Given our limited time, my wife and I opted for the BBQ Meat Sampler from the menu. This selection promised a variety of meats, including pulled pork, brisket, ribs, pulled chicken, turkey, and sausage, along with sides like coleslaw, beans, and cornbread. We asked for a substitution of collard greens instead of coleslaw, a request the bartender willingly accommodated.
However, the experience took a nosedive about 10 to 12 minutes later when the BBQ Meat Sampler was served. The presentation seemed fine, except for substituting green beans instead of collard greens – a minor mix-up. What disappointed us was the temperature of the food. None of the meats were even remotely warm, with some bordering on being slightly chilled. This was genuinely off-putting and not what we had hoped for.
We salvaged as much as we could of the meal by sticking to the green beans (the only warm item), the baked beans (the next warmest), and the crumbly but at least warm cornbread. Unfortunately, most of the meat went untouched due to its unappetizing temperature.
With our lunchtime schedule and the bartender attending to other patrons, we decided not to burden her with complaints. Despite her confusion when offering a to-go box for the barely-touched meal, we politely declined and left a generous tip before exiting the restaurant, leaving behind a plate of cold meats.
I can’t see myself giving this place another chance. While I won’t outright discourage you from visiting, I strongly advise exercising caution if you choose to dine here. The potential is there, but based on my experience, I can’t recommend it.

Got the Brisket Salad and the Red Neck Fries. They were so good. The salad had goat cheese and it was delish. Would like to see a fresh herb in there like cilantro or green onion. My husband got the pulled pork and jalapeno cornbread and Mac and cheese side. Only complaint was the muffin was blueberry, it was the best cornbread in California. The brisket was almost perfect but all the meats were just a little dry. I will be back.
