Reviews
I had the 2 taco plate, I chose the brisket and the pulled pork. The pulled pork was very good, moist and a good portion. The brisket was good, a little fatty at times but the flavor was great.
They have a lot of choices for beer on tap and bottles, I didn’t have any wine but the list looked great too.
I will come back soon.
A bonus:
Daily happy hour from 3-6PM with off menu small bites that are really tasty and affordable. (like the nachos in the pic below – you have to try them to understand. Probably the best nachos I’ve ever had).
PS:
I don’t understand why this is not at least a solid 4 or more star place. Trust me it’s that good and we need places like this to stay in South OC.
Walking into the restaurant, everything seemed promising. The ambiance was inviting, surpassing our expectations. The bartender greeted us warmly and allowed us to choose our seating. Our drink order was taken promptly, and everything appeared to be on the right track.
Given our limited time, my wife and I opted for the BBQ Meat Sampler from the menu. This selection promised a variety of meats, including pulled pork, brisket, ribs, pulled chicken, turkey, and sausage, along with sides like coleslaw, beans, and cornbread. We asked for a substitution of collard greens instead of coleslaw, a request the bartender willingly accommodated.
However, the experience took a nosedive about 10 to 12 minutes later when the BBQ Meat Sampler was served. The presentation seemed fine, except for substituting green beans instead of collard greens – a minor mix-up. What disappointed us was the temperature of the food. None of the meats were even remotely warm, with some bordering on being slightly chilled. This was genuinely off-putting and not what we had hoped for.
We salvaged as much as we could of the meal by sticking to the green beans (the only warm item), the baked beans (the next warmest), and the crumbly but at least warm cornbread. Unfortunately, most of the meat went untouched due to its unappetizing temperature.
With our lunchtime schedule and the bartender attending to other patrons, we decided not to burden her with complaints. Despite her confusion when offering a to-go box for the barely-touched meal, we politely declined and left a generous tip before exiting the restaurant, leaving behind a plate of cold meats.
I can’t see myself giving this place another chance. While I won’t outright discourage you from visiting, I strongly advise exercising caution if you choose to dine here. The potential is there, but based on my experience, I can’t recommend it.
