We always love going here as the food is delicious in the atmosphere is so fun , but this visit was particularly special because of the amazing barender Carisa!
She is so accommodating and fun. Singlehandedly making all the drinks and waitressing the entire bar area with a great big smile!

The Break Restaurant and Bar. 235 Ocean St Hyannis Ma.
Good experience here. New England Steamers appetizer and an entrée of Ahi Tuna and Fish Tacos. There is a ground floor level with a large indoor bar and outside front- patio. Also there is a dining area upstairs with a large L- shaped bar with a outside front facing upper deck. The room inside is airy and refreshing and AC controlled for the muggy days. It was excellent inside and a good selection of cold frosty beers to pick from, of course your favorite mixed drinks or whatever ice tea.
The menu covers the gamut for seafood, Steamers, Sword Fish, Salmon, Ahi Tuna, and Wonderfully sized Lobster Rolls. There is Valet parking, or just up the street there is the municipal pay parking lot. This is a great addition to Ocean Street and highly recommend. It’s worth the visit to “The Break” on 235 Ocean Street Hyannis Ma.

What a great addition to Hyannis! Went here with a group of friends for dinner and loved the atmosphere, upscale yet casual – seems like a good spot for regulars to grab a drink. Menu highlights were definitely the Surf Bunny (thank you for introducing me to the Elderflower cosmo) the buffalo chicken flatbread, and scallops. We also had a very nice server and service was quick & efficient. Definitely coming back next time we’re in the cape!

We stayed next door and wanted to walk to dinner. The staff were friendly and delightful. The cocktails were great and my children loved their food. I got the scallops. I will be honest…. I was very disappointed. It came with “Parmesan” risotto and asparagus. It was all VERY bland. I was honest with the waitress and she apologized (not her fault) and offered to send it back. I am hesitant about doing that as I never know what cooks may do to the food when someone does that I told her it was okay and she was still apologetic. The risotto had absolutely no hint of Parmesan at all. (I make Parmesan mushroom risotto at home often) And the asparagus has no seasoning on it at all
I’m glad my children enjoyed their food but I do not recommend the scallops. Disappointing as they aren’t cheap

Hyannis didn’t disappoint. Great restaurant and bar. They’ve been open about a year. Definitely has a personality of its own. The quahog chowder was excellent and the fish tacos took it home. Julia the bartender and manager was cordial, personable and over game.Give it a shot or you’re missing out.

We stopped for lunch while waiting for ferry. I was expecting a commercialized spot given its location and was surprised at the great menu. The drinks and food were fantastic. I had the clam chowder and chopped salad – both were very good. The bartender was very nice and attentive.

Amazing…appetizers were amazing. Music way too loud! Hard to hear people at my table. The poke bowl amazing! Alcohol overpriced, but that is normal.

Food was terrible but drinks and server were good! Fried cailiflower and calamari were all just batter. The cauliflower tasted like pickled cauliflower and the calamari were so overdone they were dried out. The plates were all just burnt batter. The chicken in the sliders was dry and the buns were what it looked like toasted inside the oven along with the chicken which dried out the meat. We found hair in the rice bowl and generally waited a long time for the food. They did comp our whole meal and drinks which was extremely nice! May go back again in the summer when they are busier and give it another chance. Sometimes, when it is slow in the winter, it is hard to keep the performance high!

I wanted it to be so good but it wasn’t. To start the restaurant was extremely cold AC was blasting and it was chill outside. We asked them to turn down the AC but they did for like 20 mins and it was back on. The nachos had no taste and were mediocre. My meal the break bowl was not good at all. Some odd flavor to it and veggies were not cooked enough. And my meal ended up getting me sick which I do not think was the restaurant but just myself not responding to it well. Overall great view and waitresses were very nice but very slow.
