Awesome new coffee shop located on Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park! Cool Hawaiian theme inside. Coffee and food was great. Staff was helpful and service was awesome. Definitely recommend the jersey boy pork roll sandwich or the avocado toast with the nutty Hawaiian cold brew.

Do you need a warm hug today? Get yourself the Tillie Melt at Makana’s. Those mini, garlic butter grilled cheese sandwiches made on King’s Hawaiian rolls combined with the delicious, homemade tomato soup are better than any human’s arms. Trust me. My new favorite coffee shop in asbury! The staff was so friendly. I got a quad shot it was strong and delicious and I got a sweet potato cookie that was amazing! Overall great experience and very reasonable in pricing!
To top it off they asked if I wanted water because I was in the middle of my run. Sweet sweet people we need more good hearted places like this!

Was excited to try this place for forever given the good reviews on TikTok but it simply was not for me. Ordered the hula girl and the coffee tasted really watered down to me and bitter not in a good way. Hopefully can give them another chance in the future but it just was not it this time. Intrigued to try the food as the coffee was not preferable, could be better on food!

Loveeee Makana’s. Their ube iced latte and lemon poppy muffin are perfection and have become staples in my diet Also try their smoked salmon sandwich, I got it on an everything bagel and will definitely be doing so again. The atmosphere is perfect, you can hang out inside and zen out, or sit outside at their tables on Cookman avenue and be part of the Asbury Park slow bustle!
I also love that you order and pay at the counter in one go! It’s much more relaxing that way, versus being waited on in my opinion (:

GO HERE! I was in search of fresh REAL food and found this gem. The staff make everything (almost anyway) on site and it’s all made to order. Their menu can accommodate any needs, and it’s unlike anywhere else I’ve found in Asbury. I had the Lynn wrap without chicken sausage (they added sweet potatoes for me!) the “ooh baby” latte with a combo of oat/almond milk and less ube. Anyway if you’re debating – don’t! Go and give it a try, so so good!

Amazing food. Amazing people who run it. The coffee is so good and I’m not even a coffee girl! I loved the hibiscus tea and the lemon poppy muffin, and both the macadamia nut and ube cookies are TO DIE FOR!

Makana is a breath of fresh air in this town. The customer service is not only friendly but attentive and very accommodating. Their food is fresh and full of such good flavors, and who doesn’t like a build-your-own salad with fresh and seasonal ingredients? And don’t skip their gluten free pastries – WOW!!
