Who are the snobs rating this place below a 5 star for excellent service??? Get off your golf carts and go back to the Hamptons. Jeezzzz! The chicken salad rivals some of the best I’ve had in the deep south. The burger was excellent only made better by a soft and chewy bun. The fries were so good, with a nice snap. The views were priceless. We didn’t get any of the sweets, but they looked so good. I wish we had gotten some, but it’s inspiration for another trip back as we only did a quick trip just for lunch. Took the mail ferry over, and then the noon ferry back. It’s totally worth every minute of the ferry rides.

Best Fish and chips in Maine. Ceviche? On point. Donuts? amazing. Wine and beer selection? Diverse. Staff? Know what they are doing with great leadership from management. Service? No stone left unturned.

The food and the team behind it paint a picture of a place with heart, flavor, and purpose. It’s no small feat to nail ceviche and donuts. That’s some culinary range.

Owners do a lot for the community, and hey, they are great people too, with a wonderful family. It was a pleasure to drink and dine here. I’ve been to Long Island Bakehouse for two summers now, and this is what keeps me coming back! Keep up the great work!

Reroute your summer plans to head to Maine. You won’t regret it.

Overpriced, but we expected that out on an island. I assume the pizza is good because so many went out the door. We didn’t try it, eating off the menu instead. Should have tried the pizza.

LOVE the island bake shop! The deck is wheelchair accessible and you can enter through that side door to avoid steps. They have such a great variety of cold sandwiches, baked goods, pizza, and appetizers. My favorite was the sausage pizza and their blush vinaigrette salads. They even serve a hot dog on a brioche bun, which was delicious. We kept coming back throughout our trip to enjoy wine(&beer) on the patio to watch the boats and say hi to the locals walking past. Just what the island needed!

So, this waterside (waterviews!) restaurant offers a surprising menu, as it’s several miles offshore from Portland. Homemade donuts, delicious and filling sandwiches, a deck for outside enjoyment, and conviviality as well! My wife and I enjoy the pizza, too. Do enjoy as you see fit; we recommend this establishment.
