That old saying has never been more true than at Oceana in Rancho Mirage. From the outside, this unassuming spot might not immediately catch your eye—but step inside, and you’re transported into a lively, creative space that perfectly reflects the restaurant’s inventive approach to food.
The interior is a delightful surprise—bright, artful, and full of personality. It’s the kind of place that immediately makes you feel welcome and curious about what’s to come. And what comes next does not disappoint.
The menu at Oceana is a thoughtful blend of fresh, high-quality ingredients and imaginative preparation. Every dish feels inspired, from the beautifully presented seafood plates to unexpected flavor pairings that work flawlessly. You can tell that the chef takes pride in both flavor and presentation. Best of all, the prices are refreshingly fair for the level of creativity and quality you get.
Service is another standout. The staff is warm, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about the food, adding to the sense that you’ve discovered a hidden gem. Our waiter was attentive, polite and served his employer well!
In short, Oceana proves that appearances can be deceiving. Behind its modest exterior lies one of Rancho Mirage’s most exciting dining experiences—delicious, innovative, and served with genuine hospitality. Don’t let the outside fool you; this is a place worth discovering again and again.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — A must-try in the desert dining scene.
My wife had the scallops and said they were perfect. Our friends had seafood pasta and one of the octopus dishes and were very pleased. I had the lamb and it was delicious.
The Carlota dessert was a very nice version of tres leches and the coconut flan was excellent.
All in all a very nice dinner experience.
I plan on going again maybe even tonight!
Love to have a local spot like this!! 5 star
Drinks: creative and ample. They did something with a margarita that took it to a different level. And the Guava Cosmo is a must have
Food: appetizer calimari steak was excellent; Barramundi in caper & lemon sauce was delicious; whole fried Snapper was overcooked ,dry and inedible… sorry.
Atmosphere: the restaurant is beautiful… especially the imaginative bar. However the noise from the crowd was deafening. We could barely hear any of our guest’s conversation at our 4-top table. If this restaurant, which could easily be 5-star, is to survive, they’re going to need to address the sound issue .
Tomahawk was cooked perfectly to temp.
Ceviche was great.
We had a lot of other dishes.
We will be back!
