PR Italian Bistro is our neighborhood go-to. The moment you walk in, it just feels like home—warm, welcoming, and relaxed.

The food is spectacular. Start with the focaccia and the Gamberi all’Aglio. The shrimp were perfectly cooked in a rich red sauce that was the standout of the night.

For mains, the spaghetti bolognese is a must—hearty with exceptional ragù and a rich sauce that clings perfectly to the pasta. The Linguine Padovani was also fantastic, with fresh vegetables and generous chunks of chicken.

Our waiter Bryson was great and really added to the neighborhood charm of the place.

We had such a great experience at The PR Restaurant! Everything we ordered was so delicious and fresh. The flavors were amazing, and the service was friendly and welcoming. Definitely a place I would come back to and recommend to others!

A really lovely (if a little too dimly lit) atmosphere. Good happy hour drinks. Incredible food.

I got the veggie lasagna and it was probably the best I’ve ever had. Delicious

3 stars because 2 1/2 wasn’t an option. Meh food. The meatballs were pretty good but the chicken in the Linguine Padovani was tough, very dry, and underseasoned. The linguine was cooked past al dente. The foccacia was ok but the olive oil for dipping was bland, didn’t taste at all like an Italian EVOO, and lacked seasoning. The restaurant was pretty empty on a Friday night yet the service was lacking. Our waiter, at best, was indifferent. As he refilled the water glass, he sloshed quite a bit of water leaving a shallow pool in the center of the table. I believe the chef brought the food out, just dropping it at the table in a very drive-by manner, mumbling something in Italian as he continued walking away. Disappointing for the price on several levels.

I swung by on a Friday night with a buddy, and we lucked out with a cozy window seat—perfect for people-watching. We split the Diavola pizza with spicy sopressata and honey, and I had the pappardelle with house-made sausage and mushrooms. The pasta was fresh, and the flavors were on point. We also tried the Cynar martini, which had a nice bitter kick. The vibe is chill and unpretentious, and the service was friendly without being overbearing. We spent about $70 total, including drinks, and left full and happy. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.

PR Italian Bistro is a true neighborhood gem and one of my absolute favorites. The food is always delicious, the vibe is cozy and welcoming, and Kyle is absolutely wonderful! She goes above and beyond to make every visit feel special. It’s always a treat to come here — whether it’s for a casual night out or something a little more celebratory. I love supporting this local spot, and they never disappoint. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out!

Wow! I’ve lived in Lakeview for about 13 years and this was my first time here, although i’ve tried many other times but never worked out. To be able to say I had the opportunity to TASTE the food, is truly a culinary experience!

We had a variety of dishes to really explore the menu and judge the talent of the chef’s creations!

We ordered the Paccheri Campanello, which was spectacularly prepared and piping hot when it arrived, which is rare these days!

Next up was the Pollo Chioggia, also phenomenal, a lemon wedge would have been an even better touch!

The appetizer Gamberi Aglio Arrostito was a treat! Would’ve loved some more bread, possibly thinner and lemon wedge would have blown this dish out the water!

Dessert was a definite and boy were we glad we ordered it, italian bread pudding with vanilla gelato, warm, light and glorious!

The drinks were also amazing and creatively prepared… Black Currant Gin Fizz & Cranberry Margaritas! …oh and the limoncello before dessert was EPIC!!

The worse part of the meal was when I made the MISTAKE to order the rustic Margherita pizza! I tasted one slice and regretted it almost immediately. (definitely a waste) The crust had a terrible consistency, flavor and definitely does not fit with the spectacular dishes that we had the privilege to taste.

THE STAFF ARE PHENOMENAL!!
WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!!
We even ordered carryout the next evening it was that DAMN GOOD!!

I cannot rave bout this place more! Once getting into Chicago I was craving Italian food, but not the traditional red sauce and noodles! I found this place on a whim and I was blown away by the menu. I sat at the bar and received the best service this evening.
Don’t hesitate to stop here. You will not be disappointed.

I stopped in today after the Linguine Padavani had been on my mind for a while—my go-to here.

This experience wasn’t the best, but I think it was more of a fluke thing because PR has been fantastic every other time. I was seated immediately, even despite the upcoming Cubs game, but the service was a little slow. And the burrata and linguine were delicious, but those are two tiny crostinis and the chicken had a reheated taste to it. A little disappointing but not enough to sway me.

I’ll definitely be back for more and am already excited. The food always comes out nice and hot, and there’s a cozy feel to it if that makes any sense. I also love the atmosphere at PR. It has a certain down-to-earth/neighborhood feel, but it’s elevated at the same time. The servers are always super kind, too!
