They were very helpful with food allergies – advising what could be subbed and what would alter the flavor of a dish. (Dairy allergy).
The service was excellent from the moment we approached the host stand (we had reservations) til we left for the night. Our waitress was fabulous and the food was excellent.
I had the salmon with a sub of brussel sprouts for the rosary and while others at my table had it as designed, I don’t think I missed out on anything. It was the perfect portion size even with a guac appetizer.
The cocktail I had was excellent – the gimlet was perfectly balanced. The folks having house margaritas, including the flavored specials, said they were well done.

The perfect patio for an evening of chilling out! We went to Cielo’s to celebrate a special occasion and had a fantastic meal, including those amazing green corn tamale hush puppies — SO good. The entire courtyard has an easygoing ambience, with Southwestern charm at every turn (from the tiled fireplace and fountain to the landscape art and bird sculptures on the eaves), and we enjoyed the excellent food and friendly, attentive service. If you order a drink, it’s there within a minute or two and served with a smile. Welcoming and relaxing in every way — can’t wait to go back!

For my birthday my husband and I took a mini vacation to Tucson and stayed at Lodge on the Desert. We stopped in on our last night to Cielos and had the best experience. Wes was our bartender and he took very good care of us – very friendly and helpful w out being annoying. I asked for a chocolate martini and I was brought the most delicious tasting drink I have ever experienced! Yum!
We dined on chips and salsa, tacos, tamale bites and chocolate torte w ice cream for desert. Great service, tasty foods, clean and inviting space in which to sit after a fun day sight seeing! We will be back!!

Really lovely experience. We were here for lunch. The line was a little long to order for food, which is kind of my only demerit. The service was very good, the wine was fantastic. I also love the special detail of the vintage cutlery. I had the Turkish breakfast and it was fantastic. If it was allowed in polite society I would have licked the plate. Definitely saving this place to my favorites and I will return again.

My husband and I had Thanksgiving dinner at Ceilos at the Lodge of the Desert. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. Firstly, they set up temporary tables and folding chairs in different rooms. Our table was wobbly, and the chairs were not comfortable. We felt like we were sitting at the kids table – not a good start.
Secondly, service was sparse to say the least. Finding a server was difficult at best. To top it off we realized on our bill that we had to pay a 20% holiday gratuity. I understand providing gratuities for staff working on a holiday. However, the dinner was buffet style, so we would have expected service to be much better since there was very little “food” service.
We were disappointed with the buffet. The mashed potatoes had barely any gravy and what gravy there was – had been burned on the bottom of the potatoes due to the heated serving tray. The turkey was not a “real” turkey in my mind. It was a combined turkey where the white and the dark meat were blended. Neither was very good. There was also no plain butter for the roll selection. All there was on the table was maple butter. I don’t particularly care for maple, so my roll was plain. I was surprised plain butter was not provided. The best thing at the buffet was the carrots. They were fabulous. There were various other offerings but nothing that we felt was worth the $90 we paid per person. Again, very disappointing.
I have an upcoming reservation for my dining group in December. I will be canceling it since I was so disappointed with just about everything at Ceilos. However, I’m not even sure the reservation is on their books. I called, made the reservation and was told that since the reservation was so large, one of the managers would need to reach out to me; that was 3 weeks ago and no word from anyone. Again disappointing.

Had reservations for 1430 on Christmas day. We didn’t realize the buffet closed at 1500. We were early and had two wonderful cocktails in the bar. Table not ready until 1445 in a dark room by ourselves WYF? With only 15 minutes to enjoy this barely tended to buffet. So we didn’t stay for the food. Atmosphere was nice, bartenders were outstanding!

A classic place with lots of history and great food. Went there in March and I had the Manhattan it was great with their subtle twist. Went had the green tamale hush puppies which I certainly recommend! My wife had the meatloaf which sounds very plain but it was VG. I had Manchego pasta with shrimp also VG. Alexis took good care of us and was very knowledgeable.

The charming outdoor courtyard with a fountain, fireplace, and strings of soft, overhead lights provides the perfect ambiance for date night — or dinner with a few adult friends. The inside patio and restaurant offer more seating options.
All of us enjoyed our meals. The meat was tender, perfectly cooked, and flavorful. Vegetables were delicious and not overcooked. Finally, service was impeccable from start to finish. They serve very creative cocktails you won’t find anywhere else.
This restaurant is in the southwest section of the historic Lodge on the Desert hotel.

We went for the Thanksgiving buffet. Consider donating meals or money elsewhere if considering a holiday meal here. The turkey was not even real turkey (it was pre-combine meat that was highly processed and tasted like thick deli meat). The “mashed potatoes and gravy” were served in a casserole style, with gravy mixed in and burnt on the bottom, melted cheese congealed on top. The sweet potatoes were au gratin and had a strong bacon flavor that masked any sweet potato. The cranberry relish was inedible. The mushroom and leek bread pudding (stuffing) was okay and the corn pudding was pretty good. The only gravy was in the turkey pan that you could barely scrape out. The only butter for the cold, hard rolls was a salted maple butter – so the seasoned rolls did not have a flavor match there. The salads were good and the breakfast options (the egg dishes) were really good. All of the desserts were from a grocery store. Many dishes were consistently running out or cold, or there were people waiting for plates. We were sat in what looked like a small banquet hall, with flies and had to walk through a sprinkler to get to the buffet. The service staff were nice and attentive. For $90/pp – this was honestly not as advertised at all and very much felt like a hotel brunch buffet that should have been no more than $35-50/pp. It was incredibly disappointing for a holiday meal – but am thankful for food and family.
