Last Thursday, 3/5, I bought $70 in food and it was very bad. 2 salmon dinners – the salmon was dry. Maybe sitting too long? Mac & greens – bland. No taste. Greens were bitter. Hot sauce didn’t help. Peach cobbler- too refrigerated. Old. Dry.
Maybe a bad day. Maybe a a new chef. Maybe wrong time. Never going back.

I’m writing to formally complain about a takeout order I received that was completely unacceptable.

From the moment I opened the bag, it was clear there were serious issues with how this order was prepared and packaged. Multiple containers were not properly sealed and had leaked significantly, soaking through the containers and onto the table. Sauce and liquid had spilled out everywhere, creating a mess and making the food difficult to handle.

The presentation was extremely poor. Different items were mashed together, food was swimming in leaked liquid, and the containers were warped and barely holding their contents. This is not what anyone expects when paying for prepared food from a restaurant.

More concerning, there appears to be a hair visible inside one of the containers, which raises serious food safety and hygiene concerns. That alone makes the meal inedible.

Overall issues include:

Containers not sealed or secured properly

Extensive leaking and spills

Food mixed together and soaked in sauce

Sloppy, careless packaging

Possible hair contamination

This experience was frustrating, messy, and disappointing, and it does not reflect basic standards of quality control or food safety. I’ve attached photos to document the condition of the order as received.

I expect acknowledgment of this issue and an appropriate resolution, such as a refund or credit. Please let me know how you plan to address this.

I’ve spent years obsessing over their food on socials that I followed so I was extremely excited to try this. Upon going in the atmosphere was very clean very chill which is appreciated when I’m getting food from a location however the mannerisms and the hospitality were a little off. I’m from Connecticut and I naturally can seem a little aggressive at times with how I talk but I correct my tone when it comes to customers as I am a business woman in the food industry as well. We were informed about the buy one get one free and to scan a code which we did on Uber Eats and proceeded to order. It’s supposed to be for pick up however it was making us do delivery in order to get the deal. They advise us to place the order still and they would switch it to pick up however they did not do that and claimed Uber was having issues so we didn’t get refunded for them $12-$15 in service fees and delivery fee from Uber. Also my friend ordered hers before me two separate dinners and was able to use them (salmon and chicken) as the buy one get one free, now when I tried to do it they stated it had to be two of the same dinners and I explained the lady just gave my friend two separate and advised me I could do the same now it’s an issue. They got very rude and began belittling me about how I don’t know how to order and I’m just wasting my money and their time, so I asked to cancel they told me no too late (which i never got the food in hand yet so that’s beyond me) because I have kids to feed I had to buy another dinner in this time they accommodated it just fine???? But whatever. Uber gave me money back after long dispute. The food was OK, not was i was thinking it would be. Greens are little to sweet, and yellow rice taste a little packaged or off. The attitude i got in order to get a meal i genuinely wanted to get and support because i have been so in awe with their socials, was not worth it. And i prob won’t return.

Hello! I ordered the meatloaf with the side of macaroni and cheese and collard greens. I opened the container and smelled something so unpleasant that I almost flew out my chair. I don’t say this often but I’m very surprised that they felt comfortable with serving it. I have included a picture, and the meatloaf tasted exactly how it looked. To be honest, I nibbled on a piece and I almost flew out my chair again. This place does not deserve your business until it gets some things together immediately.

I ordered the seafood fried rice for delivery through Uber eats and was disappointed in the extremely hour +30 minute long wait time for it to be delivered. The restaurant staff were not even aware of my order when I called in about it more would be willing to even help me. Their professionalism really sucks. The rice was hard and the vegetables were extremely squishy. To make matters worse, the lump of crab that they put in the center of the rice did not taste fresh at all. It taste like they use cheese to get the crab meat to stick. I give this entire meal

On 1/10/26, order #002186674 (opened 6:30 pm, closed 6:32 pm), the cashier Patrice B. (name on receipt) raised her voice and spoke in a hostile manner for approximately one minute when asked about garlic butter, despite clarification that the item had been ordered previously. The restaurant was physically not busy at the time.

When it was my turn to order, she rudely questioned why I had not ordered at the same time as my friend, implying there was an expectation to do so. During checkout, she continued making dismissive remarks and eye-rolling while I retrieved change. This was not her first rude interaction with me.

I am a frequent customer, and my experiences with other staff members have been appropriate. However, this conduct is inconsistent with professional service standards. Similar concerns have been noted in prior reviews.

I love coming here and have loved ordering online. However, I ordered the other day and the server was downright disgusting. I stood for 10 minutes while I was ignored and when the lady finally addressed me she looked so angry I almost left. Then she didn’t respond to my questions and gave me my food without a thank you or anything. Utterly unacceptable and disgusting. Seriously you need to teach them manners. I’m from BKNY and I’m not being sensitive. There’s no reason why anyone has to be treated that way. I won’t be coming back to this location, and if I do I will say something this time, even though I’m classy someone has to teacher her.

I will never in my life order from this store again. Whatever fish they sent me was not whiting!! It was cooked frozen ! It was straight up disgusting!! Order from the order locations whoever runs this one is going to put it in the ground !

Without knowing that the store had a 2-1 special I was going to buy whiting there. My server had food hanging outside the container. I think contamination when I see that. I pointed out the food dangling outside the two containers. The server yanked the hanging food from one tray and took the other tray to the buffet and used tongs to push the hanging food into the tray. I asked questions and left.
At home each portion of greens contains numerous stems. Even a very long stem. Gréens eaters know you shuck the leaf from the stem.
The picture shows one trays portion of stems and fins on the whiting.
Tasty product, but awful representation.

This location it always busy so please order your food in advance if it’s for lunch.. The food is decent you may get a hit or miss day by day. The fried catfish is great the steamed salmon another favorite just had the turkey wings they were a bit dry but the flavor was there. The sides taste a bit bland but there are some that I get often the sweet corn is good it has a cream sauce. The Mac and cheese is cool. People seem to love the ridiculously sweet coolaid but not a preference of mine. ……tbc
