Took my brother and my parents here before my flight at LaGuardia. It’s been years since I went to this spot and it holds a special place in my heart because it is the first restaurant I ever tried Peruvian food at.
The lomo saltado is my favorite dish of all time. They had a great lunch menu selection, but the full menu was available as well. Ordered an array of dishes. Portions were fantastic. Thank goodness my dad and I got the lomo saltado on the lunch portion. (Lunch entrees come with either a soup or salad, or soda!) My mom and brother got the dinner portions and it was definitely a bang for your buck.
I would love to come back the next time I’m in my hometown. My dad was already raving to it with one of his Peruvian coworkers.
The place is so vibrant with all the colors and decorations throughout. There was more seating than I expected. Music was fantastic and set a fun, upbeat vibe.
They also do to go orders as well!
It’s paid street parking but Main Street is so easy to navigate.
I was happy to be able to dine in the first Peruvian restaurant I ever visited (back in 2014.) happy to see it’s still striving more than a decade later!
Our server was so sweet and personable too. She made my mom laugh and was very attentive. Super patient with us and made sure our entire order was correct.

100% recommended! The food brought me back to the time I visited Peru. The portions, the service, every was on point. Our server Lia was so friendly, everyone kept on checking on us to see if we needed anything. The sangria was so good compared to other places. If you’re looking for good food and a good time, Golden Chicken in Bay Shore is the place.

Eaten here multiple times, hits every time. The leche de Tigre was 10/10. My Churrasco was cooked perfectly will order again and again … and again. I just wished they had a drink menu. Sangria wasn’t bad though!

This was our first time at Golden Chicken, and it started off strong. We were greeted right away, seated quickly, and our waitress was friendly. The rest of the staff also seemed welcoming. The appetizer was good and made the experience feel promising.
Unfortunately, the experience declined once we received our food. One person in our group ordered churrasco (medium), but it came out overcooked. After the food arrived, the service became very inattentive. We asked for water twice and never received it, and no one checked in on us afterward.
As for my meal, I had the chicken fried rice and beans and had no complaints — it was good. The dessert, however, was underwhelming and not something I would order again.
Overall, this place had potential, but the lack of attentive service affected the experience. If you’re curious to try Golden Chicken, takeout may be a better option than dining in.

We ordered from here and had the food for faster to the airport when it flight for delayed.
The food was ready and delivered within 30 mins, and boy did this food DELIVER!! It smelled so good that the airport staff was amazing where we got it.
We ordered the whole chicken combo and had plenty for the to share.
Totally recommend this place!!! One last bonus, the price was reasonable!!

Horrible service made the verde pasta to salty and refused to make the order over. Also gave me a big container of rice and small piece of chicken. Lady was rude in the front who was taking my payment horrible service .

Food is great! The service not so much, which is Unfortunate for the owner of this place. So many waitresses but none took the time to check on me and had to wait at least 10min to get another drink after trying to get someones attention. And also asked for some sauce for my meal and two DIFFERENT waitresses failed at the attempt. I finally was able to ask a new waitress who just came in to her shift and she was apologetic as I mentioned that I had asked two others. Please do better on keeping up with your tables especially when it wasn’t busy at this time. Thanks

Atmosphere could do a little better but the people are nice and the food is one of the best the chicken is super moist even if it’s white meat it’s not as dry. If I were to get chicken this would be the place. Their green sauce is super creamy and has a little kick to it which is never a problem and paired with the chicken it’s like tasting heaven
