I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Wine & Beef Lévrier in Geneva. Steak and sauce are good but not the best one in Geneva. French fries were ok. Dessert was good.

It’s a bit difficult to communicate in English and I did not expect it but it seemed to be the standard for Geneva compared to other Swiss cities. I visited this restaurant for lunch during a work trip. The menu does not have many choices however I have to admit that the beef which seems to be the main menu they serve the most was really really tasty. Initially the portion seemed small however it was served in two servings so it was good enough. The restaurant had really a large variety of wine choices.

We had a very disappointing experience on December 31st, which is especially unfortunate as this was meant to be a special New Year’s Eve dinner.

We made a reservation in advance for 9:30 PM for two people and arrived about 5 minutes early. After giving our name, we were asked to wait in a corner because our table was not ready. While waiting, another couple who arrived after us (also two people) were seated before us, which made it seem that our reservation had been forgotten. Only later did the staff realize this and escort us to our table, located in a far corner of the restaurant.

After being seated, the service was extremely slow. We waited over 1hours and only received our drinks. No starters or food arrived, and there was no communication or update from the staff. By 11:00 PM, we still had not been served anything.

Meanwhile, other tables who arrived later than us were already ordering and receiving their starters. It truly felt like our table was completely overlooked.

Because it was New Year’s Eve, we had planned to leave before midnight to watch the fireworks, and we were also very hungry by then. In the end, we decided to leave without having eaten.

To be fair, the staff did apologize and did not charge us for the drinks, which we appreciated. However, this does not make up for the significant amount of time lost and the disappointment on such an important evening.

The restaurant itself is nice and the prices are high, which makes this lack of organization and attention even more disappointing. We are writing this review in the hope that the management will seriously address these issues, as the experience was frustrating, time-consuming, and emotionally disappointing.

I really enjoyed the meal here. They have a set menu for their ribeye steak (small, medium, or large servings with different price), which comes with salad and fries. The recommended red wine went very well with the steak. Finally, their cheese plate was quite good as well.

Some of the most incredible food I have ever eaten, combined with the worst service I have ever experienced. It completely ruined my visit.

The staff were distracted, entitled and unhelpful to the point of being outright rude. If you’re a dedicated foodie it might be worth the trip, if you’re a frequent traveller looking for somewhere to experience Geneva, I’d definitely give it a miss.

Was looking for a steakhouse while staying in Geneva and came across this gem. Menu is very small, just a few steak options, tartar or carpaccio for starters, a great wine selection and that’s it. This is pretty much the classic steak and frites but done superbly. I had a small BEO steak for a bit more than a normal steak, medium-rare, cooked to perfection and you could cut it with a spoon. The sauce was amazing, not just a typical pepper sauce but more buttery with a bit of curry. Fries were obviously fresh and great with the steak sauce. Kids had the burger and both said they were awesome. Lemon tart, creme brulé, and the cookie sandwich for dessert. Highly recommended and surprisingly not that expensive. Will definitely be back.
