Stopped in for fish on 3-14, got there after 7 but they were still open. At first glance after we walked in was not impressed by all the tables being dirty but they must have been busy. Ordered catfish fillets ,baked beans, macaroni, and fries. Fish was excellent perfectly cooked sides were great but the fries were real oily. Maybe oil not hot enough? Overall we loved it and will go back, the waiter gave us a dessert that was incredible. Apple, peach cake of some kind, sauce and a crumb crust I will definitely ask for that again. Great job

This place is fantastic. You will enjoy it. They have the best homemade sausage. Wish I could stop here every morning.

Excellent down home cooking! We had the Country Fried Steak with Gravy, real mash potatoes and Green beans. Homeade peach cobbler for dessert. Really Sweet people who run the place! Definitely recommend it

We waited a LONG time for our food and for our check. My family’s food was good though. The Nashville Hot was ridiculously spicy….so much that I couldn’t eat it and was not offered anything else. The waitress just told me that a “guy that does heat challenges could not finish this.” Most places I’ve been to have always made those kind of issues “right” by throwing in a different meal or comping the meal. If the meal is that spicy, it should be explained. I’ve had Nashville Hot at other places and tolerated the spice level just fine.

I will never eat here again. The entire experience was awful. The food is average, absolutely nothing special and portions were small for the price. The atmosphere was not miserable. It was hot in there. You could tell the AC was running, but it was like it couldn’t keep up despite the small size of the building. Additionally, it was very cramped. Could hardly weave through the tables without bumping a chair or said table. But worst of all was the service! Absolutely abysmal. We waited over 15 minutes just for the waitress to ask us what we wanted to drink. And then another 15 minutes for her to come back and ask what we wanted to order. There were only two waitresses and seemed like they were doing everything excepting tending to us. I can’t even count the amount of empty plates she picked up and repeatedly took to the back before she decided she wanted to take our order. This place is tiny, we weren’t forgotten about, just ignored. After finally ordering food, we waited no less than 50 minutes for that food to come out. Not once while eating did a waitress check on us without being prompted. I sat my empty water glass at the edge of the table hoping for a refill, even making eye contact at times, but that refill never came. No one stopped to ask how our food was, if we needed anything, etc. We had to flag someone down any time we needed something (to go box, the check). We had little interaction with the waitresses and when we did it was meh. They were by no means rude but also did not go out of their way. I just simply will not recommend this establishment to any one. It was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had and that is not at all an exaggeration.

The food is amazing! We have had the catfish fillets on Friday nights and fried chicken on Sunday. The huge Grandpa Rebbe’s pork tenderloin is great on a sandwich or on a horseshoe (the cheese sauce is delicious!). The servings are generous. The foods that are supposed to be hot are very hot, and the beer is cold. It is worth a drive through beautiful country to eat at this place. Always satisfying! It’s clean, homey, the prices are right and the people are super-friendly! This is one of my new favorite places to eat.

Stopped here before going to New Salem. Got there at 12:35 on a Saturday. It took over an hour for food to arrive, and they close at 2pm. Food was good, however, not worth the wait, especially when a table of 3 women walked in 30 minutes after us. They got appetizers and entrees served before us!!! Not impressed and it was colder than a walk in freezer.
