I had breakfast which was good addition helping of food. I had a western omelette went home fries and my wife had the French toast. We both enjoyed it very much. Service was good and waitress was friendly. Atmosphere was typical of a diner. Pricing was right in line for all of the diners. It was a good breakfast for the right price. All in all good experience

WATCH OUT FOR OVER CHARGING!!!!
So, they charge a small fee for credit cards – no big deal. But, twice on separate occasions, when I paid cash, they tried to charge the full price with the credit card fee. TWICE!!
Food is fine – Service is fine –
place is clean – Prices are reasonable.
Go there and have a decent meal – But test them to see if they cheat you.

Went to this little quaint diner in downtown Jamesburg as we happened to be in the area again. For a small town it has many dining options with a variety of cuisines. However, we decided on something with a comfort food feel. We chose the diner which has a pretty good selection of dinners including a senior citizen menu as well as some specials. We ordered the chicken cordon bleu along with the homemade fried chicken. Both dinners included soup, we had chicken noodle and New England clam chowder. Both soups were flavorful especially the clam chowder, it was delicious. The fried chicken was crispy but lacked any distinct seasoning, it was just basic fried chicken. It was ok, just not a signature type dish. The chicken cordon bleu was a whole different story, it was extremely salty, so much so only a quarter of the dish, if even that much, was eaten. Needless to mention, but we didn’t take any leftovers home. With each dinner a choice of vegetable is offered, we never did get the string beans even after reminding the waitress twice. The zucchini was cooked and seasoned very well and the mashed potatoes, well, were mashed potatoes. Overall a very disappointing experience, at least for dinner. Would I go back, probably not.

Looking for a quick stop at a diner.. the type that the locals enjoy. Found this gem. The place was full and we where comfortably seated within 5 minutes. The waiter was attentive to our questions and there wasnt a pause in the time we sat, we ordered until the food was served. I enjoy getting a feel of the restaurant by looking at the clientele. This place was definitely a place to meet a friend to catch up over coffee; to spend time with a family member enjoying french toast, or like us, outside travelers looking for a comfortable environment with a home cooked meal. This is the place that checked the boxes. The menu was designed to show the selections for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The waiter made sure to accompany requests. They also provided selections for the day. In the end, the roasted coffee was hot, the food was warm and freshly made and the atmosphere made you think ” i need to come back again “

I come here with my mom. She’s always happy with whatever she gets, we usually come for breakfast. My mom loves the waffles with fruit. I’ve gotten pancakes, omelets or eggs and toast. We are always satisfied everytime we come. My mom comes every Sunday. Reasonably priced, good service, friendly wait staff.

It was ok for a basic breakfast. Warmly greeted at the door. You can tell this place has been here a very long time and is frequented by lots of locals. It’s right in the heart of downtown Jamesburg.
Coffee was good. Had the Florentine omelette with spinach and feta… probably the worst feta cheese I’ve ever tasted… I don’t even think it was feta. My son had the Greek omelette which had the same bad cheese. My wife had basic over easy eggs which were done nicely. Pancakes were good too.
It was surprisingly expensive. $57 (including tip) for 3 people is a bit much. Overall the meal was ok. Would I go back? Yes I would, but I wouldn’t expect a wow meal.

Discovered this bustling gem on a rainy afternoon. The food service is quick and to-the-point, and the food is filling and no-nonsense – all highly desirable traits on a diner. I had the matsoh ball soup, a half eggsalad sandwich special, and the rice pudding. The french fries were crispy and delicious. I was pleasantly surprised that the hot sauce they provided me was a homemade buffalo sauce similar to Frank’s Red Hot and a big step up from the typical tobasco. This strip of Jamesburg has a lot of great restaurants, and I recommend The Diner if you want a quick, no-nonsense bite to eat.

I came here multiple times for breakfast and have had various egg dishes that were very good. Sat at the counter and young waiting staff very pleasant and highly attentive. Few tables inside and very clean. Woman at the register should smile more and be more pleasant to customers. Had meatloaf dinner burnt on the bottom and sides, and wifes dinner warm. Not recomnend for dinners. More of a breakfast place.
