What a hidden gem! Made a trip out here with my husband looking for a new place for breakfast. This restaurant is inside of an old historic inn. The decor is still time specific. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The staff was super friendly and the service was prompt. My husband had a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on sourdough bread. The bread was toasted but still soft and the bacon was cooked perfect! I had two eggs with a waffle, ham, and hash. The potatoes were amazing! The eggs were probably the best over hard I’ve ever had. The waffle was light and fluffy. Everything about this experience exceeded my expectations.

We stopped in for appetizers and beverages. The Mediterranean Plate was delicious. Warm pita, hummus, tzatziki. Babaganoush, fresh red and yellow pepper, cucumber and carrot thin sliced.
House chardonnay perfectly chilled, and a decadent dessert of Banana Cream Pie!

This is an adorable restaurant with amazing food and atmosphere. We brought my 4 year old and the staff was friendly and welcoming. There’s a ton of cute trinkets as well. The decorations are stunning and next level. I got the eggs Benedict 3 ways and it was phenomenal. My husband got the stuffed french toast with berries and creme and I could have eaten they as a second meal.

Jump off Route 13 to stop at Sugar Water at the historic Washington Inn and you won’t regret your decision to bypass some fast food place. Great service, good food, and pet friendly (outside only). The grilled cheese and butternut squash soup combo was a home run and the shrimp salad was fresh and crisp (no heavy mayo version). Dog and toddler strongly endorsed the french fries.

Was there for brunch this past Saturday. Waitress gave us menus and was back a minute later to take orders. So noisy you were unable to casually talk.
Never asked if we wanted coffee or drinks. Waited over 30 minutes for meals. No condiments on tables, had to ask for them. After meal she never asked anyone if they wanted coffee or dessert. Just gave us our checks.
Everyone talks how great you are. I doubt I would eat there again.

We have tried here several times and the experiences have been hit and miss. The first time I was asked about my meal I told the truth and the owner argued with me. I mentioned the portion of meat that was supposed to be with the pasta. She argued it was a certain size and I showed her how much it was. She agreed it wasn’t the correct portion. The second time the food was excellent.

Tonight my flank steak came that I ordered medium rare and it was definitely well done. I mentioned it to the server and she said wow that’s overcooked! She took it back and then came out and said the kitchen said it’s marinated that’s why it looks like that and I’m sorry.

She basically said the kitchen can’t make a medium rare flank steak. I told her I didn’t need the steak then. They brought one out 20 minutes later and I sent it back because I already said I didn’t want it. We butcher our own meats and marinate them as well. Certain times when we do cook marinated meat, we can cook it to a medium rare temperature without it looking and tasting like it did tonight. It’s a shame. We love the atmosphere and hope they make it in business but like most every other experiences here we will wait a little bit before we try it again.

The food is sourced from local vendors. We have eaten here for dinners and brunch and have been so happy with both. The owners go the extra mile to make sure you have a wonderful time. Blown away! This place comes with great atmosphere, being set in the Historic George Washington Inn; but it definitely doesn’t stop there. Came in to grab a quick drink and bite to eat and ended up having one of the best dinners on the Eastern Shore. They had Rock Fish and Rack of Lamb as the specials when we visited, so my girlfriend and I tried one of each. Both dishes were absolutely perfect, flavorful, cooked just right, served with delicious sides and paired with perfect wines. Didn’t think to take a picture, but the food was served with great presentation as well. Wow! This is a unique gem in the Eastern Shore and definitely alone worth a little visit to Princess Anne, not to mention local shops in this serene picturesque little town. Get emersed in history and enjoy some amazing food with friendly staff and owners! Add this to your Eastern Shore Foodie bucket list 100%.
