The food was overall good. The consome and keto taco were salty..I had to eat the radishes with lime to chill it out. But the tacos were good. The rice was really greasy. The service was ok. It took awhile for someone to take my order. But I think they are short staffed.

Without a doubt they have the best tacos in Utah! The birria is absolutely delicious, and something I really loved was the decoration of the place! it gives such a great vibe!

For the first time in years, I was blown away by a new spot. The birria beef? Tender, rich, and packed with flavor. Walking in, you’re immediately hit with the intoxicating aroma of slow-stewed meat and spices. Picking up my order, I knew it was going to be good just from the confidence in the staff’s response when I commented on the smell—they knew they had something special. At home, I opened the container to reveal perfectly crisp quesotacos and warm corn tortillas, all nestled beside a deep, red consomé—the very essence of slow-cooked perfection. One dip, one bite, and my brain lit up with layers of smoky, savory, slightly spicy magic. The meat fell apart at the touch, each bite saturated in rich, red-tinged juices that carried a deep, complex spice profile. It was ecstasy. The tortillas had that perfect street-food crisp, slightly oily in the best way, while the Monterey Jack-style cheese gave that classic ooey-gooey, elastic pull—so good I had to use my other hand to break the strand. The consomé wasn’t just a dipping sauce; it was liquid gold, infused with the very soul of the slow-stewed beef. Fresh toppings included bright cilantro, diced red onions, and crisp radish—all incredibly fresh. I’m not a radish person, but even I could tell these were prepped that day. The onions were sweet and mild, the cilantro added the perfect burst of herbal brightness. If you like classic street taco toppings, you’ll love these. Then came the biggest realization: I will never step foot in Chipotle again. This place ruined it for me in the best way. The only real downside? Their full menu isn’t listed on Google or delivery apps. They have birria ramen, pizzadillas, rice, and beans—things you wouldn’t know unless you walk in. Owner, if you’re reading this—why limit your own greatness? At least list the full menu somewhere! That said, this is an easy 4.7/5. Nearly perfect. Just fix the menu accessibility, and it’s an instant 5.

We absolutely love the food here. We used to purchase tacos from the owner when she had her food truck, and ever since we moved to Salt Lake City, we haven’t had many chances to stop by. This time, we made the drive down to Orem specifically for the delicious queso birria tacos.
Unfortunately, our experience today, December 26, 2025, at the counter was disappointing. The woman working the register provided very poor customer service. She did not acknowledge us when we approached and simply asked, “What do you want?” in a rushed and unwelcoming manner. Even after saying “please” and “thank you,” her attitude did not change. It felt very unprofessional and uninviting.
We know the owner has much higher standards and values when it comes to customer service, which is why this experience stood out so much. We will continue to make the drive from Salt Lake City for the amazing birria tacos, but we truly hope this feedback is addressed. Poor customer service like this could easily leave a bad impression and prevent others from returning.

Please talk to her the food is incredible, and it deserves the same level of care and hospitality.

This happened about 12pm and 2pm lady with black hair an apron of loteria.

Hope this helps, thank you

I went in and made a decent sized order to go. Once I arrived at home I realized they only gave us 4 of the 6 queso tacos I had ordered and paid for. I live 10 minutes away so I was a bit disappointed. I called and management made me question whether I had paid for them even though the cashier remembered the order and told them she made a mistake. They said I could come for them right then or another day. I knew if I waited for another day my chances of getting them would be low so I went back right then. I arrived and the cashier apologized but management do not recognize the huge inconvenience it was to drive home, drive back and drive home again, in addition to the 10 minutes I waited to them to give me my two tacos. I love Red Tacos but was disappointed by their service and refusal to make things right.
Update: They claim they offered a complimentary meal in their response but that never happened. I’ve worked in retail and customer service so I completely understand that human error happens but it felt like I inconvenienced them by asking for the food I paid for. The fact that they would say that instead of acknowledging the mistake and trying to make it right, even now, fits the entire experience. If management would have acknowledged the inconvenience and even offered a free drink I would have not written this review.

Our friends took us here a couple months ago, and I’ve been obsessed ever since. Generous, flavorful, beef, multi cheese, and perfect consume, make for perfect comfort food. I would love to just sip the consumme (I don’t know how you spell it, I just know I like it)

I was afraid with inflation, the sizes would shrink or the quality would suffer, but I’m delighted to say it’s every bit as delicious as the first time.

This has GOT to be one of the best taco places in Utah! I wish there were 20 more locations! The tacos were fantastic! Different! Tasty! And the dipping sauce/soup was unbelievable. Add the melted cheese…worth it! My only regret was that I couldn’t try more items from their menu.

The only negative is that it’s kind of a small restaurant, and is super crowded! Which is why they need more locations! Can’t wait to eat here again!

Pretty great! Great value between quality and quantity.

Stopped here for date night on Saturday around 530pm or so? The location was busy but not packed at that time, but some 15 min later or so it was a madhouse. Which is a good sign 🙂 but could be frustrating depending on where you are in the matrix of Have a Timetable and Want Tacos Desperately.

There are two doors, so you can enter from either. This is great depending on what parking is looking like when you’re there.

I felt like the line was designed a little strangely, in that most people while we were there seemed to be confused on where they should enter the line, but if you enter where most people seemed to think was “right” you were really close to the counter and viewing the menu was more difficult.

It would be helpful to have more screens with that menu, or some printouts to see while in line, and the menu didn’t have descriptions on unfamiliar words and terms. So a printout of a menu that also had descriptions would be really helpful for making sure that when people get up to order, they are as ready as possible. I delayed the line probably 3 min just asking about what some of the things were. Just a thought to help optimize a location that is popular enough to get very busy.

Food arrived in good time. Right before I would have said in my mind, “Hmmm. This is taking a while.”

Wifey ordered a burrito and I got a combo with two of the three kinds of tacos and then ordered a third. So between both of us we were able to try a lot of the menu, and since there was a good quantity of food with each order, that was a great perk.

We both enjoyed the taste and quality of the food! I would have enjoyed one or two more sauce options, but the sauce I got (the mildest one ) was flavorful with the tiniest amount of kick. The items we had were fried, so that might be the one point I would have preferred to have had different, since that can add up at a taco joint.

All things considered, Red Tacos is being added to our core group of “go to” Mexican/Latino favs.

First time visiting and the quesotaco hit the spot. Ordered the combo 1 and split it between two people. Appreciated the simple menu and would come back for tacos. The cashier was kind but other than that we didn’t have any other interactions with the staff. Great little lunch place and two tacos with a side of rice were perfect for a lighter meal.

Small little shop so not a ton of seating but we visited on a Saturday evening and had no issue finding a seat. Four stars simply because we liked the food, but not necessarily the best I’ve ever had. Solid restaurant.

We got the combo #1, the queso tacos were on point and the street tacos are as authentic as any taco cart downtown. Great atmosphere, simple menu and delicious food. If you love authentic Mexican food then Red Taco is a must . Combo meal was plenty of food, even after I was full I still wanted more because it tasted so good. 10/10 will eat again.
