Q:”This Pasadena pub answers the question,’how little can you care and still have a kitchen?'”
A: What is Lucky Baldwins Trapiste pub?
The lack of any sort of crowd should be a warning that this place has seriously gone downhill. My food arrived prepared incorrectly and they took it back and did not fix it. Really all they did in 5 min was let it cool.
I ate about 20% of before deciding the calories weren’t worth it. This must be common because the waitress didn’t both to inquire. I mentioned it and she offered to get the manager. He came over listened and picked up my card to run it. Simply no pride in that man. None.
There are better restaurants in both directions on Colorado, Plate 38 and Foothill are both good. fewer TVs but good food prepared by professionals who care.
This was my last visit to LB, good beer selection lots of TVs, but if beer dispensers were legal they would not need staff. And no one would notice.

I’ve never been to England before, but I can imagine this is what a pub there would feel like. There is a great vibe and atmosphere with lots of drink and food options. While the fish and chips were the biggest I have ever had, I cannot say they were the best. The fries and coleslaw were decent, but the fish was very unappetizing and I could not finish.

Visited on Sunday around 3 PM when it wasn’t busy at all. Our server barely came to our table, and it took a long time just to place our order. Drinks came out quickly, but the food took much longer.
Both dishes arrived cold. The fish and chips were especially disappointing. The fish was cold, the batter was soggy, and it came with one very small piece of fish, even though photos from other reviews show two pieces. The green peas were cold as well.
Portions were small, the table was dirty, and overall the experience didn’t match the price. We still tipped, but the service and food quality didn’t justify it. Would never go back or recommend this place.

Best fish and chips with coleslaw! Servers are always accommodating for me on the patio with my little boston terrier. Plenty of TVs. Their tap list and drink list is 3 pages! My go to spot to hangout and enjoy Colorado Blvd and a cold one

Excellent beer selection and delicious British pub food. The fish and chips are some of the best I’ve had. The fish is perfectly cooked and not dried out like many places, and the breading isn’t too heavy or oily. The steak and Guinness meat pie is also worth a try. Occasionally they run out of some beer offerings but there are so many choices that shouldn’t bother anyone. I’ve never had anything less than great service, even during busy evenings.

I’ve been coming to this place for years—it’s always a great spot to catch up with friends and share good moments. I used to frequent their other location several nights a week… those were truly unforgettable times.

Long time Pasadena pub. I hadn’t been there in years. Had fish & chips. The fish was good. The chips were ok. I didn’t have a beer because they have the one I wanted and they charge $2 to sample. I have traveled the world and never had a bar charge me to sample a beer on draft. Not cool. Therefore I had water. Only four stars.

Walked in and heard country music. That was the first offputting thing. Ordered a Guinness, no 2-step pouring process. She brought me the beer still trying to settle. 2nd and 3rd, the beer wasn’t cold enough. Fast forward to the menu, burgers aren’t exactly “traditional” Irish dishes BUT I ordered a chicken pot pie, essentially. Here is where they redeemed themselves for sure. Big hearty chunks of chicken, potatoes and carrots. Upon cutting through the flaky crust, the aroma was so delicious it was almost enough for me to want to burn myself to wolf it down. Flaky crust was so buttery that it almost tasted cheesy. Needless to say, I ate all the crust and tried my hardest to finish it all. It beat me. Tried another tepid beer. All in all, def go for the food maybe I will just get a beer from the fridge next time.
