Recently went there on a Saturday for lunch with my family. I was shocked to see the restaurant almost empty. I had the brisket and wings to meat plate, My wife had the pulled pork And ribs plate, My daughter had the chicken tenders and mac & cheese.
Overall restaurant was clean tidy. Staff was very friendly. We even had one gentleman that checked on us a few times he was very polite..
I was a little setback by the pricing 65 bucks for a family of four is a little steep for what we got… But after seeing the portions, it’s probably justified.
Brisket was just OK. Some pieces were juicy and flavorful other pieces were dry. It was like it came from two different cuts of brisket. Wings were Solid. I was very unimpressed with all the homemade sauces.. The tangy was my favorite, but it was just OK.
My wife shared the ribs with my son. They were tender. My dad attacked them and had one bite. He devoured all of them, so pretty good considering he’s very picky. Why like her pork but the bite I had was just OK.
Overall, my complaint isn’t that anything was bad. Just everything was OK and there was something missing from the atmosphere in the restaurant. Can’t put my finger on it, but it feels like they just need something to get them to the next level.
Bonus, we are Christians and we love that they were playing worship music

Wow! Popped in to try the award winning brisket and also fell in love with their wings!!! Run, don’t walk to their sweet wings, buffalo chips and friends okra. Their white sauce will put the crown on top! Delicious… so tasty…. did I mention how much we love the flavor?!!! YUM!

I will never come back to this location. My brisket looked like someone chewed it & spit it out. The napkin holder at my table was nasty & looked like it had mold. I have visited the Southport location a few times & the customer service there was amazing along with the food. That is not the case here. I watched 2 women stand at the front for over 10 minutes waiting for someone to help them. While all the workers were in the back laughing & playing ( you could hear them in the lobby area) . One of the men came from the back as we were walking out to make him a drink & told the ladies he would get someone to help them. I recommend making the drive to Southport!

The brisket was amazing, so tender, just melts in your mouth. Ribs fall off the bone, good spicy dry rub but not too hot. Mac and cheese and green beans spot on. Ate in restaurant but got it packed to go because I knew I wouldn’t be able to finish it it all. In town for work for a couple of days and will definetly be picking up takeout to bring home to the family tomorrow when I head home.

I’ll start by saying we will see you good folks again. The food is good for sure. This trip I had 2/4 rack of ribs and 1/2 chicken. The ribs were good by themselves and didn’t have to add any of the 7 sauces they offer. We plan to go back and try different meats and more of the different sauces. My suggestion for you if going for the first time is this. Get the little plastic cups they offer and put each flavor of the sauces in each cup. That way you can try and make your meal best for you by sampling the different sauces with your meats. I got potato salad and collard greens both were awesome and tasted like something your mother would have made. The collards did Not have sugar in them as that is a common theme in the south, to add sugar to collards. Banana pudding and apple cobbler were both excellent. See yah again. We noticed this place as we were passing by and spontaneously decided to give it a try. As a brisket enthusiast, I must say, they exceeded our expectations. The brisket was superb—tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. I also highly recommend their collard greens. While everything was enjoyable, the brisket and greens stole the show for me. The atmosphere felt like family, the service was excellent, and the praise and worship music added a refreshing touch. This spot is definitely a must-visit for us when we return to the area.

My friend and I went Friday to give another try after the past few times my brisket sandwich/ plates were dry. So again sad the Mac n cheese and banana pudding were better then the brisket. This time it was dry and had hard bits in it and BBQ sauce couldn’t even save it. Sad don’t know if we will try again. The one in Southport is getting the same way as well. guess we will just start going back to mission barbecue.

We went in at 2pm on a Monday. It seemed to be a really slow day for them as there was only one other table seated. I overheard a worker say it was a slow day as well. Someone was preparring an order for take-out and then helped us place our order so it did take a few minutes upon initial arrival but they had our order out before we were done filling up our drink cups.
I ordered the brisket plate with baked beans and banana pudding.
My husband ordered the pulled pork sandwich and fried okra.
They had several sauces to choose from which were all delicious.
Everything we ate was so flavorful! My husband doesn’t even like brisket usually but he took 2 pieces from my plate.
Places like this usually have good meat or good sides but this place was great in both areas. No complaints whatsoever.
On top of it all, they were playing Christian music throughout the restaurant which made me feel at home. I will definitely come back, and recommend you all do too!+◇
