We’ve eaten at this deli whenever we’re in town. Great selection of delicious food that is personalized to your wishes. The “half-sandwich and cup of soup” option was an entire meal, the cup of corn chowder overflowing and fabulous. We’re both glad we chose the half … although we did split a large single-serving apple pie. Nice staff, too, even when very busy. Highly recommend!

I love this place sooo much!! The pear cambazola salad, all the soups, lamb stew, beef bourguignon, best homemade bread, and lemonade are some of my staples. In an ever changing and growing San Diego, it is so nice to have a consistent and quality place for homemade food that tastes and feels the same as when I went the first time 20 years ago. The owner is still there all the time working super hard running everything and keeping Girard Gourmet amazing. Everyone working there is also super friendly. 5 stars every time I go

Great bakery. It’s been there for over 70 years. No vegan pastries, but they had a nice 15 bean soup or carrot soup. Busy during lunch hours.

Not a fancy spot, but a really solid choice when you’re hungry.
The food is good quality with a nice variety to choose from—perfect for a quick bite or snack. I asked for a chai tea latte, and they made it especially for me, which was such a nice touch. The apple strudel was also really good—fresh and flavorful. It’s a casual, comfortable place that delivers exactly what you need when you’re craving something tasty and satisfying.

Girard Gourmet is a must-visit in the heart of La Jolla Village. The food is consistently delicious, beautifully prepared, and incredibly tempting—from savory pot pies and comforting hot plates to fresh soups, salads, sandwiches, and irresistible tarts.
Diane, the owner, is often on hand with a warm welcome, which makes the experience feel especially personal. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to help you choose just the right dish.
I’m a huge fan of their specialty cookies—they’re creative, seasonal, and always perfectly match the mood. Everything here looks amazing, tastes even better, and keeps me coming back.

Everyone that works there is always very welcoming. I also really appreciate how they give back to the La Jolla schools!

Wow!!! Our Girard sandwich was delicious and huge. Thank goodness we shared one. It was toasted with turkey, bacon and veggies in it. I really enjoyed it as well as the cowboy cookie. Everything looked good. I will probably go back tomorrow and get one of the pies. Limited Seating inside and out.

Great place to get a quick bite, pastries, sandwiches, and soup. The owner even gave me a pre-graduation cookie as a free gift!! ❤️ The hosts were great and the food was even better! Love the variety of soups and choices for sandwiches. We had their Lasagna and Shrimp Creole with Italian bread and homemade lemonade. It was superb!! Highly recommended!

We were just walking by looking for a coffee, and we end up in this amazing place!
First of all, I want to recall the five star attention from all the staff including the owners, and adorable couple!
We ordered a quiche, blue berry muffin, capuccino and a latte, everything was good.
This place is very pet friendly, they offered our pup a piece of ham and water, we are very grateful for that as we just came back from the beach.
This will be our new fav spot in La Jolla!
