We visited Pasta Vino on a Sunday evening around 8 PM and waited about 5 minutes to be seated. It’s a small, intimate restaurant with limited capacity, so a short wait felt expected. The ambiance was warm (literally)—they have an open kitchen, which adds a nice touch visually but made the dining room quite hot. There didn’t seem to be any AC, which brought the ambiance rating down for us—6/10.
Our server was friendly, but not very helpful when it came to recommendations. Since it was our first visit, we asked about wine and menu suggestions, but the responses were vague and centered on “it depends on your taste,” which didn’t give us much direction.
For appetizers, we started with the Bruschetta Al Pomodoro ($15), which was excellent—8.5/10. The cherry tomatoes were vibrant and fresh, and the flavors had a perfect balance of sweet, salty, and tangy. Slightly pricey for the portion, but worth it if you’re a tomato fan.
We also tried the Mediterranea salad ($11 + MKT price for lobster), which was fresh, well-balanced, and generous in lobster. I’d rate it a solid 8/10 for both flavor and portion.
For main courses:
• I had the Tonnarelli Pomodoro ($22 + lobster at MKT price). The portion was satisfying, and the flavors were nice and clean—7.5/10.
• My husband got the Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe ($22 + $9 grilled chicken), which unfortunately missed the mark—6/10. The flavor didn’t really stand out, and the dish felt underwhelming overall.
• Our friend ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana ($26) and absolutely loved it. The portion was decent and the flavors were rich and comforting—9/10.
As for wine, we tried two bottles:
• The Ratti Nebbiolo red wine ($60) was okay—7/10, not particularly memorable.
• The Bartenura Moscato d’Asti ($38) was a winner. Cold, sweet, and refreshing, especially considering how warm it was inside. It’s also my personal favorite white wine—10/10.
Overall, it was a good experience, though not quite up to our expectations. The prices were reasonable for the area and portion sizes. While we probably wouldn’t go out of our way to return, it’s worth a visit if you’re nearby and looking for classic Italian fare in a casual setting.

LOVED everything about this place! My plate is a wonderful GF Pasta Veal Saltimbocca! Peach Bellini and a fresh Caesar Salad. You won’t be disappointed! Just not the seat at the door. (Reason for 1 less star) Our waitress was a peach! Did I say Handmade Pasta!

Loved eating here. Pasta was delicious and homemade. Very lively space, it was super busy but service was still on point.
Will definitely come again.

This is a newer local Italian restaurant with fresh, house-made pasta. It’s located in a strip mall, but don’t let that fool you—the atmosphere is amazing. From the moment you walk in, it feels incredibly welcoming. Everyone is friendly, including the talented chefs.
Tony, the owner, greeted me at the door and immediately made me feel at home. He checked in throughout the evening to make sure my experience was nothing short of excellent. I had originally planned to order takeout, but the warmth and hospitality from Tony and the entire staff convinced me to stay and enjoy my meal with a glass of wine.
I had the dinner special: lobster ravioli with lemon—it was to die for! I paired it with a crisp Pinot Grigio, and the combination was perfect.
Honestly, I can’t emphasize enough how friendly everyone is here. The bartender, Allegra, was making delicious cocktails, and Tori, the chef, was creating incredible dishes. I was so impressed watching Tori work that I had to take a video—his craftsmanship is amazing, especially from a seat at the bar.

Pasta Vino is a true hidden gem in Rhode Island. A cozy Italian restaurant tucked away from the tourist crowds, offering an atmosphere that transports you straight to Italy. The food is outstanding—perfectly al dente pasta, rich sauces, the freshest ingredients, and a beautiful balance of flavors. It’s clear everything is made with genuine care and passion.
The service was excellent—warm, relaxed, and attentive without being overbearing. The entire evening left a lasting, positive impression.
The only thing missing to complete the Italian experience was a small shot of limoncello at the end. Just a little touch that would have been the perfect final note. But now there’s a great reason to come back.

Let me start on the positives. This is a new place, so they have time to correct the course. Their bread is marvelous, so fresh and tasty. It goes well with their good quality Olive oil. The burrata salad is so good. I recommend it. Our waiter was trying hard to handle a dozen tables, but she clearly needed help.. Now, some things to improve and I admit that it was partially my fault. I should never order lasagna and eggplant Parmesan in a place with “anything Alfredo” in the menu. That is not Italian. That is kind of Olive garden. The sauce for the lasagna was too acidic that I needed some tums after dinner . And it was not “unfrozen” completely, so the center was still cold. The eggplant Parmesan was basically breading, not much eggplant. Anyways, they can improve the sauce and do better, but while that, I would stick to the plates that need to be prepared to order, like the pastas.

My sister and I stopped in after spending a long day in Newport and we truly could not have asked for a better experience. From the moment we walked in we were treated so well, and the service cannot be beat. Everyone made sure to check in throughout the course of the dinner to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was excellent and I wish we could have tried everything on the menu. We also cannot sing enough praise for Josh. He is so personable and made our experience unforgettable. If we weren’t from out of state we would be back every weekend to test out more dishes. Josh even provided some more local hidden gems for us to check out. Thank you for such a warm welcoming dining experience!

We had not been here before. The Di Mare was very good. The Amatriciana (rigatoni with pork cheeks) was a great new experience and rate that a 5! Our waitress was very new or the service would surely be much better. Definitely a good choice. Prices are reasonable as well.

The food was delicious and this is coming from a southern girl. We had the meatballs as appetizers and I had the ricotta lobster ravioli.. yum. Drinks we wrong – I had an Italian rum something and I could smell the alcohol before it even touched my lips. The price was pretty on point for the upscale food. Must try in the area but better if you make reservations.. the only reason we gave a 4 is bc the small table was wobbly but we had no reservations so thank you for fitting us in.
