There are multiple elegant rooms with 19th century charm to host any celebration from graduations to weddings. First time at this fine dining restaurant. Food and service was top notch from highly trained staff. Robert was our staff. The filet mignon was tender and juicy and cooked to perfection but the mashed potatoes mix was truly delicious and a very interesting mix – I will spare the details so you can find out for yourself the secret. The dessert was spectacular and served as a wonderful cap to a perfect night. The setting and atmosphere were very classy but having a real person playing the real grand piano puts this place into an entirely different bracket that no other restaurant in Clay County can compete with. The owner and head chef, Chad Davis, took the time to come out and check the floor and guests to see that things were up to his high standards. Must say that I think we have found a new favorite place for date night or when we have special occasions or guests in town. So happy we finally were able to check this impressive place out. We loved it!!

This is an old school restaurant/event space, with this review only covering the restaurant. Entree came with choice of salad, bread and 2 sides. Food was good although chicken portion was a little small. Would have liked to see more salad options as appetizers as only offerings were same salad offered with entree. Service was very friendly and we didn’t feel rushed. Clientele was older, mainly adults didn’t see many kids nor anyone under 40. Decor is a little dated but given age of clientele I don’t think that’s a factor. They had a piano player creating a nice ambiance. A lot of the features of the restaurant unfortunately don’t exist with the modern eateries. Only negative is the parking lot wasn’t well lit, it was dark when we were done with our meal and difficult to find our car. We plan on returning in the future.

My husband and I visited the restaurant to celebrate the New Year. An old mansion in a residential area, the garden is neglected and needs attention and be prepared that there is no light in the parking lot and this is quite dangerous. But now about the good. The food was excellent and we can sing an ode to the chef. Spare ribs, fish, shrimp cocktail with an incomparable sauce, crab soup. It is very tasty, guys. We were pleased with the presence of butter on the table. A huge thank you to the chef for his skill and to all the staff for a feast for the stomach! Our waiter was nice and polite and easy to talk to. We will definitely visit the restaurant again. Happy New Year to everyone!

We went here for a.party. The location is old and could be charming if it is upgraded. It gives creepy old house vibes..The saving grace is the food was good. The veggies were seasoned well, the chicken Piccata was good. The pasta was also good. The bread was dry and th ceasar salad was not worth eating. I absolutely would not use the restroom, it didn’t feel like it offered privacy or sanitary. The hall leading to the restroom seemed cluttered. I most likely will not be back. I felt one of the servers had an attitude but I didn’t let that disturb my good time.

Everyone here was amazing. We had our wedding here on Saturday and from the get-go felt valued and taken care of. Special shout outs to Jaqi, Chad, Adam, Taylor, and Mariana. Y’all made our ceremony and reception go so smoothly, and you were all so sweet. The food, atmosphere, and service were incredible. Everyone (literally) couldn’t stop saying how much fun it was. This week I celebrated my birthday at this beautiful and charming restaurant. They went above and beyond to create a beautiful setting for our small party of 5 people. We had a semi private room by a fireplace and I was allowed to bring my decorations for our small celebration. This is a Victorian style restaurant filled with history and charm of an old mansion. The food was amazing ! The place is very clean and the personnel is very welcoming! This is not a crowded chain restaurant.This is a local place with a personal approach and more of a private dining feel! We loved the live piano music! I would give more stars if I could! Thank you !

It has been a long time since I’ve been to the Hilltop. I took my mom on a Tuesday evening in December and we had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, prices were fair, the server was phenomenal, and the place was beautiful and decorated for the holidays. We started with the crab and spinach dip and it was good and the pita bread was amazing! It was a little crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, buttery, and warm. We split the filet mignon entree which came with a salad and 2 sides. Everything was delicious, especially the steak. You also get rolls for the table. I got a glass of the Clos Cabernet and it was really good, especially with the steak. Our server was so nice and attentive. She boxed what we didn’t eat and made sure we were through with each course before bringing the next one. It was pretty empty, but I already have plans to return.
