El Acapulco is a hidden gem on the edge of town. It’s worth the effort to go out of your way to eat here.
The employees are friendly and attentive.
The food is fresh and fast. I was pleasantly surprised to find the vegetables in my meal were fresh cut and not frozen. The seasoning was perfect. The salsa was full of flavor, with them giving you a mild and spicy bowl to pick from.
The atmosphere is bright and colorful. Everything was clean and well kept.
If you are in the Hodgenville area or nearby and hungry I would recommend checking out El Acapulco.

Updating review: we ate there again and hoping it was a bad night but our server ignored us all evening, food was cold, it took over 2 hours to get our food which came out in 20 minute intervals for a group of 4 and we saw tables around us come and go. Really hoping it was an off night after the great service we had the past two times but we won’t be back for a while.

!!!DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!! Not only did they start getting an attitude on the phone with us after THEY got our order wrong, they offered to TAKE BACK our tacos and place them back on hard shells like we ordered. One, that’s a health safety violation and extremely inappropriate. Two, this is the second time they just threw it together. They are Highly incompetent at listening to customers and rude.

We used to come here because it was quieter than Little Mexico and didn’t have all the coked up servers. Now those servers have came to work here and they have the music cranked incredibly loud. Asked them to turn it down and they would not. Food is fine but might as well go to Little Mexico.

This place is amazing! Alexis and the staff, Natasha especially, go out of their way to make it the most comfortable atmosphere. The food is fabulous and always fresh. The chips are always warm and fresh also. We go here every week and Alexis makes us feel like family. I highly recommend El Acapulco!
