Terrible experience at Santos Kitchen & Lounge. The service was awful and the owner was extremely rude and unfriendly from the moment we walked in. We had reservations made days in advance, yet we were treated like an inconvenience.
The restaurant was completely empty, which honestly makes sense after experiencing the attitude and lack of hospitality. This place is seriously overhyped. The drinks were mediocre at best, and the food was overly salty. I even specifically asked for my guacamole with no added salt, and it still came out unbearably salty and honestly disgusting.
Overall, terrible service, disappointing food, and a very unwelcoming atmosphere. Do not recommend. Save your time and money.

I went here with my wife’s the other night. The food was not up to par. The wings had no flavor to them. The hummus was store bought. The bartender that was on ran a scam on us because my wife had ordered two drinks and he charged her for four singles and when I spoke to the corporate team, they did explain that there is a button to charge for a double so he tried charging us for four singles instead of two drinks. I have a receipt to prove it and emails to show that the server was at fault. completely disappointed with this place I paid almost $200 for four items and drinks. On top of that on their menu, it says $16 for hummus platter ended up being $16.54 on the receipt which means there was tax added on to that $16 and then I got charged more tax at the bottom. Why was I charged extra money from what the menu says? Also, when the overcharge was brought to the waiters attention, he goes. Oh, I can fix that. You know what you did. You charged us for four singles when my wife only had two drinks, and you clearly had a button that charges for a double if a customer got a double you tried making extra money by charging for four singles and thinking that somebody wouldn’t realize that that’s been in the industry much longer than you have been. Please explain how your food says $16 on your menu but there’s an additional $.54 added on top of that plus additional tax all the way at the bottom I understand the tax at the bottom but additional money on top of the $16 without it showing in the menu. You clearly need to retrain your lead bartender from trying to run a scam on people

Very disappointed with Santos Restaurant. The waiter was rude, inexperienced, and barely came to our table. Drinks are overpriced and the food was terrible. The tacos were on hard flour tortillas with cold meat and very limited options. The wings were hard, dry, and had no sauce.
To top it off, our water was filled straight from the sink faucet instead of filtered water. Definitely not recommended.
Overall, poor service, bad food, and not worth the money. I 100% do not recommend this restaurant.

Santos is hands down one of the best Tulum-inspired spots in Downtown Tampa. From the moment we walked in, the vibe felt elevated yet welcoming — great atmosphere, beautiful presentation, and a fresh, vibrant menu.
We started with the ceviche and it was absolutely fantastic — bright, fresh, and perfectly balanced. You can tell the ingredients are high quality. We also ordered the trio dip, which was a standout. The salsa tasted incredibly fresh, and the spinach queso dip was excellent — rich, flavorful, and hard to stop eating. The regular queso was good, but we kept going back to the salsa and spinach dip.
What really set the experience apart was the service. The owner was personally taking care of guests, stopping by tables, and making sure everyone was happy and satisfied. That level of attention and pride in the restaurant makes a big difference.
Highly recommend Santos if you’re in Downtown Tampa — especially if you’re staying at the Hilton Downtown. It’s right around the corner in the courtyard and absolutely worth the visit. We’ll definitely be back.

We held a holiday party here outside and they accommodated our every need! We had a nice spot outside, an attentive bartender, great food, and good music. We even had surprise performer at the end!

We came to Santos Lounge to celebrate our anniversary, a special night we had planned with care, including a reservation for a specific table. The ambiance was lovely, the setting was beautiful, and we were truly enjoying ourselves… until we were abruptly asked to leave our table.
Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, we were told that our table was suddenly reserved for someone else. No apology, no effort to accommodate us—just a sharp, dismissive attitude from the hostess, who was not only unprofessional but outright disrespectful.
It completely ruined what was supposed to be a memorable evening.
The only bright spot was Gabriel Acevedo, who provided excellent service and treated us with kindness and care—he deserves recognition for his professionalism and genuine warmth. If only the rest of the staff had followed his example.
Santos Lounge, if you’re going to prioritize last-minute VIPs or whoever walks in over guests who booked ahead, at least train your staff to handle it with grace and respect. Because no one should leave your restaurant feeling the way we did.

Service was great. Unfortunately, drink tasted like windex and had to send it back, replaced it with wine. Every drink my group of 6 ordered was awful and had a soapy chemical taste. Multiple wine glasses in my party had lip stick stains and mysterious marks. My water cup also had a mysterious grime coating the inside. The food was alright, but very overpriced for extremely mediocre shrimp tacos. The woman who seated us and I believe was the manager was rude and aggressive. Overall, I regret not doing more research and spending my money here, and I would not recommend this place to anybody. Management needs to focus on their attitude and cleanliness. I work in the service industry and am very empathetic towards restaurants, so it takes a lot for me to write a review like this.

The food is actually very bad! The ambiance and drinks are really nice but the food is basic and bland… TacoBus is way better (not meaning to insult Taco Bus). Big disappointment! I went there July 19, 2025 and my friend and I asked for the check after the very disappointing appetizers and then like 3 items on the menu were not available. You can do much better… you have a nice venue and location. The Queso Fundido is a joke lol it was like a Tostito White Sauce. The sweet plantains were nothing special and not even warm…

Passed by here on a Saturday night after dinner at another restaurant. Was attracted by the atmosphere and music and walked in just to have a drink.
We ordered two appetizers, the flaming sausage was special and tasty, the chicken pot pie was artistically presented and tasty, and the cocktail came with a flaming lemon slice, which had a smoky flavor that I loved.
It seems that the restaurant owner is very attentive, and the atmosphere, food and service are all worth coming back for.
