My friend and I had lunch here today. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was spectacular. The restaurant is very clean. The fried rice they served us was on the cold side and the cocktail, blue hawaii, was too strong and tasted bitter. The restaurant was wonderfully decorated with Halloween decor. My friend and I were very impressed with the talented staff. We will come back again.

Absolutely Amazing!!!!
I had no idea this was in Redlands. Found it on google. Omg! Did not disappoint at all.
Absolutely Incredible food!!!!
So so soooooooo Bomb.
One of My new favorite spots!!!
Only thing I wish they had more servers. I felt as bad for the guy with all these tables by himself.
They were having A party or event in one of the back rooms so he was left on his own. He did a great job, but That can be very overwhelming on a server and some of the guest did not feel that he was very attentive although he was he’s just one person, but he did an amazing job. The restaurant should definitely get more help.

This was by far the worst Chinese food I had to experience. Crispy beef tasted like an orange peel and chicken was so dry you can choke on. Everything tasted fake. I don’t understand who eats here and how it has such great reviews. We were driving back to LA from Palm Springs and thought we would stop for a great Chinese food. We also paid almost $100 for this dinner and we left our plates full, pictured below. We explained to the waitress that beef especially was not edible. And she said everyone here loves it and asked if we want to go boxes. We of course said no because we didn’t like it. She didn’t even offer to comp at least one dish. Definitely not coming back.
Next day update: my fiancé has been sick all night fighting the worst stomach flue of his life with fever and running to the bathroom every 30minutes. Great work Rui’s Shanghai Bistro.

You can tell they care more about the larger groups than single individuals. But that’s to be expected. The Kung Pao chicken was pretty good. You receive a fairly large portion. The only thing is the garlic did not taste fresh. I think they use jarred garlic which is unfortunate for the prices. All in all I would come back

The food is amazing! The prices are fantastic, especially given the large portions of food served. The service was prompt, friendly, and delivered with a smile. Victoria who was our server was warm, professional, charismatic, and was a highlight to our evening. This restaurant is a must if you like Chinese food and are in the area.

Very delicious food. Huge portions. The atmosphere feels more like a restaurant than a bistro

I will forever recommend this restaurant as my favorite for Chinese! The food is always so fresh and filling without sitting heavy on your stomach. Their dumplings are *chef’s kiss* delicious, whether pan fried or steamed. I’ve never been disappointed with any of their menu items and there’s something for everyone with two full pages even dedicated to vegetarian options! I always get their homestyle fried tofu, it’s so flavorful even my meat-loving mother was salivating at the sight of it. The new venue for the restaurant is also really nice, with lots of space and located in downtown Redlands, so it’s perfect for a date night or family outing. But don’t take my word for it! Go check it out!

I had such high hopes for this spot. Alas, all we recieved was greasy, soggy food covered in uncooked garlic.
The atmosphere is noisy and a bit chaotic. The cloth seats felt flimsy, and were covered in crusty stains. The table was generally clean.
The service started off excellent. Quick to be seen once seated and we received our beverages promptly. After that, it was exceptionally confusing, as we placed an order for appetizers that all came well after our entrees. We also had to ask for the white rice that was a part of two of our dishes multiple times before receiving it.
As for the food, as mentioned before it all was covered in grease, to the point of being soggy from grease. The tempura green beans “coating” just slid off. The noodles sat in a pool of grease.
The cucumber salad tasted like it was covered in soy sauce, and was quite bitter. The orange chicken was soft and chewy, with no crunchy and absolutely drenched in sauce – contributing to the sogginess. The Chinese broccoli had what tasted like pre-chopped garlic stored in citric acid and then uncooked ladled on the dishes.
All in all, way overpriced for the food and atmospheres. While I’m hopeful it was just an off day for them, I’ll be hard-pressed to go back.

My co-worker, Danny Nanhthadet, put me on to this spot and we finally made it out. The Steamed Dumplings and Shumai were the best tasting items by far, followed by the Salt and Pepper Shrimp, and Broccoli. The rest was okay. The Chicken fried rice was honestly unimpressive. The Short Ribs were fatty and kinda chewy. The service was outstanding. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. The decor was tight. We ordered way too much food for lunch. We will be back to try some other dishes out.

Update from last time, went and the service was lacking this time around. We couldn’t seem to find our waiter/waitress, and that can easily become frustrating. This place can get busy very fast. I am glad they moved to a much bigger place. Usually we do take out.
The food this go round was not hitting my marks than from last time. Maybe they were too busy. Hopefully it was just this time.
From last visit :Pictured is Shanghai Bistro noodles, Spicy Lamb with Bamboo shoots, shrimp tempura , white rice, sour apple saki, and Mongolian beef.
Everything is very favorable, and the portions are shareable. We usually try different things every time.
