This restaurant is AMAZING! We had delicious food while watching the world series on the beautiful patio. (This was our 2nd visit, and the inside of the restaurant is spotlessly clean and beautiful.) The staff is incredible and the owner is attentive and made sure we were fully taken care of. They started us with perfectly crisped chips and homemade salsa with horchata and jamaica. My wife and I looked at each other in amazement because we both grew up in the valley and this is hands-down the best horchata we’ve both ever had…and we have had a lot of horchata in our lifetime. Same with the Jamaica. Best we have ever had! We even had to confirm with our server…we said, “IS THIS HOMEMADE??” She said “EVERYTHING is homemade” and smiled. We were mindblown. It got even better when the food came. My wife ordered the quesabirria taco plate and I had the Birria Torta. Both plates were PERFECT. And we ordered the plantains for desert, which came with a condensed milk icing situation….which was sooo good. My son had a very happy time chomping on those. Please go have lunch or dinner and support this family-owned establishment, you won’t be dissapointed!!!

Please don’t waste your money here, the food is decent but unfortunately you don’t get your moneys worth. The cups were filled half way and we were charged full price . The taste is there but not the quality. In addition the cups are not being filled all the way and the meat is mainly fat. I attached photos so you be the judge. I feel bad because I love supporting small businesses but this is not the way to run a business.

This is our 2nd time going and the first time the cup was filled to the top. Which is why we did go go back to find out why they were only filled up half way and although the cashier wanted to do the right thing by offering a discount because we wanted to purchase more the cook form the back came out and said “no”. Apparently the first time he made a mistake and was not suppose to fill up the cup. Each order was $18 and my bowl from home didn’t even fill up.

I’m so lucky to have this Mexican restaurant right across the street from my house! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and made with care. You can really taste the authenticity in every bite — from the perfectly seasoned meats to the homemade salsas.

The service is friendly and welcoming, and they make you feel like family every time you walk in. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and everything comes out hot and delicious.

It’s officially become our go-to spot for quick dinners and casual family nights. If you’re looking for great Mexican food with amazing flavor and great vibes, this place is a must-try!

Love this place. FLAVOR IS GREAT! SERVICE IS GREAT. I told them I am diabetic and they worked with me not on the menu but they made me the shrimp and fish taco with lettuce. They have also made the veggie bowl no rice with protein I added chicken and shrimp. Please try this place I honestly recommend it

What a great find! This has to be one of the best Mexican restaurants in Simi Valley and there’s a lot of them! EVERYTHING IS HOMEMADE! Where else can you get homemade Horchata and homemade Jamaica AND even the flour tortillas are homemade. I know a few places make there own corn tortillas but flour…I don’t know of any. I tried the Chicken Enchiladas w/green sauce and a fish taco. Everything was HOT from the kitchen and very tasty! The only thing I’m not crazy about is pureed refried beans but that’s just a personal preference. One of the best things about my first visit was meeting Christian, the owner. A very nice soft spoken man who seems to really care about putting out quality food at prices we can still afford! I’ve gotta say, if ever you find a negative review about la Hacienda it’s probably submitted by a jealous competitor! Hard to believe anyone could leave here unsatisfied with the quality of the food and the sincere desire to please everyone by the staff and the owner! Don’t hesitate to try this place. You will be glad you did!

Had a great first experience tonight! The birria and shrimp tacos are a must have and I will definitely get them again! The owner also stopped by the table to check on us which was so sweet! He gave us a complimentary fried plantain dessert which was surprisingly delicious! So grateful this gem is right down the road from my house! We will be back.
