I have eaten at Italian restaurants around the world. This place is 3 stars across the board. My wife and the polo picatta and I had the pasta carbonara. The chicken had a very thin, watery sauce, it barely stayed on the chicken. My Linguine Carbonara had about 1 Tbsp of prosciutto (max) in the entire dish. So few that I had to hunt for a piece just to try it by itself. The sauce was bland and the pasta was overcooked. Definitely not Al Dante. The waitress was nice and attentive.

We were visiting Mount Dora for a weekend getaway. We were looking for a delicious Italian restaurant- and found this gem. The food was delicious. The servIce was excellent. The desserts were superb and we really truly enjoyed this restaurant-located right in the heart of town. Don’t look anywhere else just go to Café Gianni, and enjoy the flavors of Italy. My sister, in particular truly enjoyed the mussels far diavlo with shrimp added.

When I studied architecture at Clemson University villa in Genova Italy in 1992, I was also that semesters Villa Voice Editor…one primary job was to be sure and publish the recipe for Pesto. I am a huge fan of Pesto done right. First you must drown the pasta in the sauce. It should be green. No noddle should show it’s whites. This was one of the best I have had since graduating way back when. This is a don’t miss place at least for its Ligurian presentation of linguini Pesto Cremoso. And the sausage was just right. So good that I even used the bread to finish off ALL of the sauce!!!
The Puttonesca Rigatoni was also excellent. This is a must do for Mt Dora.

We’ve been eating our way up and down the east coast from Maine to Florida. Before dining with Gianni, a small restaurant in New Jersey was the one to beat. After our dinner tonight- we officially have a new favorite dish: Gianni’s Sacchettini with Shrimp! Our server, Shona recommended a delicious wine to pair with it and our evening was finished with a from-scratch crème brûlée. Would absolutely recommend, and will definitely be back

This place is seriously overpriced. They want $27 for Pollo Piccata and $10 for a Caesar salad. Both were extremely small portioned and, to be honest, not very tasty or authentic. If you want to substitute the pasta for a salad on your entree, it’s an extra $3, which doesn’t make sense to me. How is salad more than having pasta? People can’t help if they have a dietary restriction. If you decide you want to split an entree, they charge you an extra $4. The atmosphere and decor does not match the price point. The bathroom needed to be cleaned and there was visible dirt/dust on the doors and walls. We left hungry after trying to fill up on bread. If you want to nickle and dime people, at least make the place look the part. The waitress was nice, so that was one plus we experienced.

Great authentic Italian food!! Wonderful owner and chef who served the best Italian food in Orlando and surrounding areas. Their house special/ signature dish Sachhetinni was amazing. I could eat it every day! The pasta was cooked perfectly, the shrimps were juicy and tender, and the sauce was savory and delicious! I thought I was actually in Italy. Of course when I spoke to the chef, I was right! Italy basically came to Mount Dora in the persona of an amazing chef. I thought the service was great despite them being very busy, they found a way to always speak to us and make us feel welcome. The waiter was courteous and efficient. The place was very authentic, no pretense, just great atmosphere and ambience. The prices were affordable.

My husband and I wandered around the historic area early yesterday evening, enjoying the beautiful holiday lights. We asked several people where to dine and a local lady recommended Gianni’s. We love Italian food and were delighted to find this place. I had their shrimp specialty which while smaller in portion, which was fine for me, it was delicious. My husband had the veal Marsala that he loved. They had a great selection of wines and the one we had was one of the best I’ve had. Reservations are recommended, even though we lucked out without one.

First time here. The waitress was friendly and understanding that I wanted to look at the whole menu and gave us plenty of time after telling us of the days specials. There is indoor and outdoor seating but it was a bit chilly to sit outside. According to my wife, who has been here before, there is also seating on the second floor. The inside is small but cozy. After some thought, we both ordered the soup of the day which was a tomato basil soup that tasted delicious. For our entrees we both ordered the dinner special which was a homemade ravioli with spinach and cheese in a red sauce, topped with 4 medium sized shrimp. Everything was accompanied by warm, toasted slices of baguette bread. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the ravioli was the best I’ve had in the area. Can’t wait to go back.

Very, very nice! The food is fabulous. We had the signature entree, Sacchettini with Shrimp, and the Chicken Piccata, and both were amazing. The sauces on both were superb! The atmosphere is charming, and the service was also very, very nice. The restaurant was crazy busy, so the wait staff was a little harried at first but then became so cordial and welcoming. It was a great evening!

The food is incredible!! The rigatoni arrabiata is to die for and you can adjust the spicy level! The owner is awesome, and you can tell he really loves what he does. Their tiramisu melts in your mouth, definitely the best in town! I wish they delivered!!
