Well, well, well…. Not that bad after all. I seen some mixed reviews for this restaurant. I’ve been itching to come to Verona’s for a fewwww years; just never got around to it … But all that changed last night..
When I walked through the door, it was like a movie scene. The tables were full, people were talking and laughing, smelled like a grandma house during the holidays.. I knew then I was in the right place at the right time. I kept it light on purpose so I WILL be bl again!
Nayah, our server, was absolutely phenomenal. Respectable x energetic! She served us with class and ferver! ENERGY!
For appetizers, rolls were given as a courtesy, Caesar salad, fried calamari and a plate of 5 meatballs with sauce. Very nice flavors, I didn’t taste much salt (if any), and smooth presentation. The calamari brought out the most of my Chardonnay to really upgrade the taste and flavor profile of the dishes! The meatballs were THE STAR of the appetizers! Homemade, seasoned well, and a consistent texture. And also, it’s an Italian classic. The owner explained the process on how real meatballs are made. Very informative and thank you for making yourself accessible to the customers.. People don’t forget that. And the live cooking rollout table deal was the ISHH!!
For the main dishes, the Red Snapper Marichara and Chicken Saltimbocca. Crazy flavors x aromas! The snapper was pretty good! The mussels was an interesting touch, but I gave the plate more flare! A bit rustic, but still it was one of the best things I ate all night… The Saltimbocca was great as well. The mushrooms made the platee! Mushrooms wasn’t as earthy as expected, but packed with flavor. My sauce was thin, of course, and fresh. The chef sauteed it at the right temperature. However, the prosciutto held it all together! Absolutely no complaints! Once again, it just felt like you were eating at your grandma house!
When I visit next time, I will for sure try to stuffed mushrooms, a veal dish of some sort, sliced Italian sausage, and the lasagna or maybe another seafood dish… This one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to in a while…but is it hype or excitement?!!.. I’ll be back to settle that score real soon!

Came in with 12 people and they were able to accommodate! The bread was soooo amazing. I had the smoothest cappuccino to start with and then for lunch we all had their different amazing pastas. Plenty of options for adults and kids too. The service was amazing, waiter and owner were so nice and helpful (also patient with us because we had a couple kids). Overall, everything was delicious, fresh, and authentic! Can’t believe this gem is in Alexandria!!

Thinking about my beloved Italy , I was in the mood for authentic Italian and I knew from past meals this was the place to go. The minute I walked into Veronas I was greeted as if I was family ( that’s rare today) our service by Giovanni was impeccable.. he was attentive and I had everything I had been dreaming about . My chanti was excellent, I had the Eggplant Rolatjni And the Buffalo mozzarella, I had been really wanting fettuccine Alfredo, and my fettuccine Alfredo was Divine and my first sip of wine to my first taste of my pasta. I was transported back to my trip to Italy my favorite country to visit my friend had the red snapper macarini , The other person in my table had the tuna wasabi, not a bite was left on our plates. We finished off with the chocolate mousse cake, excellent and Tony the owner of the restaurant came and greeted us personally and made us feel like we were at home that we were dining in Familia. We were brought Port to our table to round out our meal. Such a pleasant experience Verona’s is my favorite restaurant in Alexandria and I don’t know how this little town has deserved such a fine Italian dining establishment.salute . If You’re in the mood for an authentic Italian meal in a cozy, friendly family oriented establishment I highly recommend Veronas

Had dinner after my wedding here and it was wonderful. Food is delicious, service was fast and easy, the private dining room (pictured) is very spacious, and overall we had a great time. I ordered the manicotti, the stuffed mushrooms, calamari, and prosecco – all fantastic. The bread is also buttery and soft. We can’t wait to come back next time we are in town!

For many years now, I’ve enjoyed dining at Verona’s and interacting w/ the owner/chef Tony. I love that he tries his hardest to interact with customers, and their young kids. He definitely knows how to treat people and the food always keeps us coming back.
The video you see here is the Chicken Contadina from last night (chicken breast and Italian sausage sliced). I asked the waiter to relay a message of “no added salt” and a sodium reduction as I’ve severely cut back on my salt intake this year for health reasons. I also requested no red sauce (heartburn). Instead, it still came out very salty with the marinara sauce. I’m not overly upset, I know things happen that are beyond our control. Instead of posting an ugly review, I hold Mr. T and his staff in my highest regards. Nobody’s perfect. But thank you as always for the hospitality and the meal sir. <3

This place is a gem. A classic Italian place. When they have bottles of sparking water on the table, ya know it’s legit. And it was. From the perfect martini and utterly amazing calamari, thru the house made bread and pasta to the old school music. THIS is what was left of the calamari. Flash fried. The most delicate breading I’ve ever had, I inhaled it. This carbonara was EPIC. House made pasta. Smoky guanciale, Parmigiano-Reggiano and the faultless technique. took it to the next level. BTW that cannoli comes from a little bakery somewhere, I’m guessing Sicily. Great attention to detail and stellar table service made it a memorable evening. Thanks so much Verona. I’ll be back.

We went for supper on October 11th and was in total awe over the whole experience. Service was top notch along with the food and atmosphere. Their suggestions were prefect for us. We had the lemon cello cake for dessert and it melted in your mouth. The veal was so tender I could cut it with a fork. We will for certainly make the drive from Houma to go back. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

As first-time visitors from out of town, we were very disappointed. The prices did not match what was advertised, and the portions did not justify the cost. Paying $10.95 for four mozzarella sticks and $10.95 for a kids’ spaghetti with meatballs felt unreasonable. We took the mozzarella sticks to go and did not stay to eat. We will not be returning.

Place is easy to find and park around. I believe the owner is originally Italian, he serves there and supervises the whole restaurant, very nice guy, he saw me setting alone, cane and sat with me for a minute for small chat. Vibes are so cozy and lights are not so bright. Service was fast and waitress was attentive. Food is PERFECTO, you can tell it’s real Italian way! Pasta was Al Dente!! White sauce with mushrooms and artichoke was great. Eggplant rolattini was awesome. Prices are very reasonable. Worth the try again.
