First of all (Doing my happy dance-while eating) it doesn’t make no sense how ON POINT my food is right now. Grant it this is my first time eating at this restaurant (at work and needed something to eat and it was across the street) but this cabbage and carrots (has a light sweet-spice) taste like gold. Rice and peas are cooked to purrrrrrfection!!!!!! Lets talk about the Curry Chicken (BABY) I normally do not eat curry chicken because it’s messy and it never speaks to my stomach and soul but FINALLY “I’M IN L❤️VE.” New customer for the life of your store front (Right here). Let me finish eating my food.

This is a small, clean cafe’ type Jamaican restaurant with a few bistro tables for two and various food choices on the menu. The food I ordered tasted authentic, fresh, flavorful and delicious, although there is an overabundance (80% of the plate) of rice & peas with each meal. Be aware, that placing a larger dish order, will just get you MORE rice and I noticed that EVERY size order gets EXACTLY the same small amount of protein and vegetables. I wanted to try one of the dessert choices on the menu, but the serious-looking gentleman at the counter said that they ONLY SELL DESSERT around Christmas time.

I went to Star’s pressure pot restaurant to n Newark , nj it’s authentic Jamaican cuisine. The hospitality was great , and the prices fair. I ordered two chicken soups, and a large oxtail. They did not get skimpy on the portions which I loved. The food was really good ,and flavorful. The inside of the restaurant is very colorful with lime green walls, bob Marley portraits , and other decor. Giving it a very exciting, and inviting atmosphere. The guy at the counter was super patient and pleasant. I give it five stars for the overall experience, and for the taste and authenticity of the food. If anyone is in Newark and enjoys food that isn’t bland visit this gem.

I ordered the chicken curry rice with peas cabbage and plantains. The food was very good and fresh but we didn’t get the plantains. We wanted too order extra after meal “beef patties -4” but not in stock. The hospitality from the front counter was plain and not informative when ask what’s good to order. But I will come back because of the food was good I enjoyed it.

I eat hear often and I love the Food. My job at the hospital was having a luncheon and I suggested Stars Pressure Pot. We had curry chicken, rice and peas and cabbage. Big up to the cook the food was awesome and so was the presentation. We will order again soon.

Not bad and not great. The man behind the counter who took our order was quiet yet pleasant. The place is extremely small. The decor is to be desired but if you are looking for decent Jamaican cooking this place will satisfy your craving. Beware the cook is heavy handed with the salt.

Will never order from here again supposed to got penne Rasta pasta and oxtails plaintain and steamed veges ..i received 4 oxtails mostly bones …2 plaintain..no veges and my Rasta pasta was spiral overcooked pasta mushy mess never again highly upset..idk how to add a photo of this mess
