DELI FIRST OPENED IN GREAT FALLS, VIRGINIA, IN 1990. YASSER BASLIOS WAS HIRED AS A DISHWASHER BEFORE WORKING HIS WAY TO OWNERSHIP. FOR An EGYPTIAN IMMIGRANT WITH VERY LITTLE MONEY AND (IN HIS WORDS) “ZERO ENGLISH”, CHASING THE AMERICAN DREAM HAS BEEN EXCITING BUT ALSO INCREDIBLY HUMBLING. OLD REGULARS WHO STILL VISIT US TODAY REMEMBER THE PLASTIC CHAIRS IN OUR TINY RESTAURANT, WHICH COULD SEAT JUST SIX GUESTS AT A TIME.

I’m from New York, so I’m pretty picky about my pizza and honestly, this place surprised me in the best way. The crust is exactly how I like it: crispy, but still has that nice chew to it. The sauce tastes great too, really flavorful.
I also tried their Italiano sandwich and ended up loving it just as much. You can tell they use good ingredients and actually care about what they’re serving.
Definitely a spot I’ll keep coming back to.

tucked right off the W&OD trail, so bikers and people passing through can stop in and grab a bite with that cozy corner-store vibe.
The staff is always super friendly, and they’ve never messed up an order; I just love that! And the pizza? It’s great! Perfect ratio of sauce, cheese, and toppings, and honestly just really satisfying to eat. If you’re craving a solid classic NY-style pizza, do yourself a favor and hit up Deli Italiano. Highly recommend!

I’ve eaten here a few times since starting a new job in the area, and not only will this be a frequent lunch spot, but I will be sharing it with clients! The food here is delicious, I’ve tried the buffalo chicken pizza, bbq chicken pizza, and the mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks are my favorite! The atmosphere in here is great, everyone was so kind and easy to work with. It’s a nice quiet area, perfect yes please for a quick bite or an afternoon date.

Waking in, I thought I was back in the NY pizza shop I visited in NYC this summer. This is the best NY pizza I’ve had outside of the city. I love how much you can customize your online order i had my pizza (extra sauce, light cheese) & my friend had theirs (light sauce, extra cheese) & be were both more than satisfied. This is definitely my new local pizza place.

Randy and the team absolutely rocks! I came here for lunch and the garlic knots were the best I’ve ever had. The sauce took it to another level as well! They have a great selection of wine to pair and a beautiful variety of desert to top it off. 10/10, if you’re ever in NOVA, it’s always worth it!!!
