Great service and food. I liked the new management attention. Will be my go to place for mexican food around the area. Taco Tuesday deal was really good and I ended up ordering pastor tacos.

Ordered to-go. Sat at front of empty restaurant for 5 minutes before being helped. Nachos were extremely soggy and guacamole is very dark greenish brown, tastes old. Wife ordered steak quesadilla, was given chicken, wouldn’t have minded so much if there wasn’t an upcharge for steak.
They also charge a mandatory 20% takeout fee.
For a small two person order, this restaurant got a lot wrong. Will not be a repeat customer.

This restaurant is under new management. The food and drinks have gotten better since they have changed. The prices have dropped as well so it’s a lot better than the old Fajitas y Tequila management. We gave it a try again after we realized management has changed. I recommend anyone to try them again and give the restaurant another chance. The chips and salsa were good, nachos were good and carne asada on them was flavorful, Burrito Texans filled with me and the Chori Pollo was not greasy at all. Margaritas were fresh and good. Waitress was attentive and very nice. Give the restaurant a second chance if you haven’t done so already like we did today.

Placed an online takeout order. Paid in advance. Went to pick up order at the indicated time and the restaurant was locked. “Open” sign displayed, no employees in sight. Called the restaurant — no one answered. No one returned our messages. Had to go through our credit card company to dispute the charge. Not a lot of fun. Wouldn’t recommend.

A must for anyone! The atmosphere at Fajitas y Tequila is incredibly welcoming. From the moment we entered, we were greeted by the bartender Claudia and owner German, who made us feel right at home. The drinks are extremely creative, and every one of them was better than the next. Lastly, the food is absolutely outstanding—one of the best Mexican meals I’ve had in Delaware. Parking is very accessible, and there are plenty of seating options available upon entering.
I also hosted my birthday party here with 30+ people, and it was an excellent choice for a large group. If you’re planning an outing with friends or colleagues, I would highly recommend this spot for large gatherings. You won’t regret it!

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Wanted to have some fajitas and a nice drink at the bar. Walk in place is a ghost town and looked run down. Host tells me theres no alcohol at all but i can still sit at the bar. Theres no people the chips they served were stale and only 1 person was working my host was also my waitress. Some people walked in and just walked right out. I ordered some fajitas the steak wasnt very good and the beans they served were crusted against the serving plate. It was just depressing. Would never go again

I’ve eaten here many times. The past year the quality has just been very bad. Items seem like they where created with a lose understanding of the recipe. The empanadas taste very bad, the elote/ street corn is also really bad. Every time I come back I’m hoping it’s just s fluke. But at this point it seems it’s just an avarage in decay of quality of food.

The food really didn’t taste great. The fish tacos were dry and the street corn wasn’t good at all. I normally wouldn’t write bad reviews, but before the new ownership, the fish tacos were great and the food was good. I dont know what happened but the food isn’t as good anymore. The staff were nice.

Fajitas y Tequila used to be my go-to spot for margaritas and sizzling fajitas, but under this new management they’ve completely dropped the ball. The moment we walked in, the hostess barely glanced up from her phone and didn’t bother to greet us. It took nearly fifteen minutes just to flag down a server for drink orders, and when they finally arrived, the “fresh” guacamole tasted like it came from a tub.
The fajitas themselves were limp and greasy—no sizzle on the griddle and the steak was tough enough to challenge my molars. Our waiter seemed annoyed when we asked for clean plates between courses and disappeared for long stretches, so we were left juggling our plates like amateurs. To top it off, our tacos arrived cold and soggy, and the rice was dry and under-seasoned.
For what they’re charging, the experience was downright unacceptable. The once-vibrant atmosphere has turned sluggish and soulless, and the margaritas no longer pack a punch. Until they bring back competent leadership who actually cares about food quality and service, I’d steer clear of Fajitas y Tequila in Newark.
