We had a fabulous Valentine’s Day brunch at Primrose! The interior couldn’t be more cute and inviting – they’ve done such a good job curating the space! And the enclosed patio is adorable – it’s giving greenhouse vibes. The bread basket drop biscuits come piping hot with the most delicious salted butter and yummy jelly. We got the veggie quiche and the croque monsieur for our entrees. The quiche was amazing – such a delicious delicate egg custard and yummy pastry!! The croque monsieur was decadent and so worth it. We shared the Dutch baby pancake for our “breakfast dessert” and it was great! The staff was excellent, the music and decor was a hit, and the food is a 10!

Me, my wife and son visited Primrose recently since we live in the neighbor. I haven’t been here in years and I was excited to go. The service was on point. Our waiter was attentive and mindful of the fact that brunch was ending soon from the time we arrived. I order the crispy potatoes and the bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches while my wife ordered the chicken and waffles. I enjoyed my sandwich and half salad. The bacon was thick cut which I was a fan of. As for the chicken and waffles it was sub-par. The chicken was overcooked as well as the waffle. My ideal type of waffle is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. This waffle was dense. The potato were fantastic. Look forward to trying more of their menu.

Beautiful corner bistro & wine bar nestled in the heart of the Brookland residential district. With a robust sunroom annex jutting out into the side street, Primrose garners ample sunlight to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I loved the detail of the elegant crown molding, ostrich feathered chandeliers, and stunning turquois bar. Gorgeous decor.
We stopped by for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed their house-made Bloody Mary (cornichon Brined Bloody; Lemon pepper vodka, cornichon brine, tomato juice), smash burger (gruyère, charred onion, Dijonnaise, frites) and salmon Benedict.
Service was friendly and attentive, no false notes during the entire experience.
Highly recommended.

Phenomenal all around. The staff were so friendly and helpful! One of our party has allergies and the staff were really helpful in determining which items she could have. The food was delicious! I had the gnocchi and I think it’s the best I’ve ever had before-I ate it all before I remembered to take a picture. A couple pics of the delish small plates we had

I went here for brunch and couldn’t eat a single thing on the menu, everything had dairy in some form: cheese, eggs, milk, butter. When I asked what I could eat, the waitress, Deborah G., stood at the far end of our long table and loudly announced that the only option was mushrooms. She didn’t come over to speak with me directly, instead yelling across the table and making the situation unnecessarily embarrassing.
She eventually told me to “just order sides,” so I ended up with a side salad that was literally a plate of leaves with oil and a bowl of plain potatoes. That cost me $19 before tax, a 5% service charge, and tip. If you have any dietary restrictions, don’t expect empathy, flexibility, or basic courtesy here.

Went for dinner on a Saturday night. Made reservations and knew we’d be late and called it in and they were very accommodating. The atmosphere was fantastic – cute & cozy. The food was filling – I had the burger, which I normally never order, but the cheese-onion-pickle pairings were super tasty! The orange vino verde was amazing and we had their last bottle. But Sebastian provided a next best wine option with what we wanted. Would recommend and would definitely go back!

Primrose is a cozy and tastefully decorated space with caring staff. The food was great as well as the wine selection. Perfect for a girls night! The waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and we had great recommendations for wine! Can’t wait to return. Sebastian and Josh were gracious and made us feel extremely welcomed and they were kind, friendly and knowledgeable and great with recommendations!

Great atmosphere, food and service were fine. They’re doing a $55 “Taste of Primrose” menu now that’s three courses. I got the ricotta toast, steak, and cornbread. They were all okay, not nothing I would really want to order again. I also did the wine pairing, which I don’t think I would do again. They charge a service fee separate from the tip, so the meal ended up being more than anticipated from looking at the menu online (edited for accuracy).

Another spectacular meal at Primrose with my family. Sebastian, owner and Som, absolutely smashed it out of the park with the wine recommendations for our meal; cocktails were also divine if spirits are more your taste. The fall/winter offerings are delectable, especially the Hokkaido pumpkin ( I still cannot get over the depth flavor ), and the Oyster Mushroom small plates. And the mains of the tilefish and steak frites were delicious.
But save room for the chef’s take on Sticky Toffee Pudding!
As always, this gem is welcoming to kids and the Wednesday night we walked in, it seemed like quite a few other families with kids had the same idea, because it is so easy to have you cake and eat it, too when it comes to fine dining with kids at Primrose!

We celebrated our anniversary in this welcoming restaurant. Everyone was very friendly and the restaurant had a neighborhood vibe but big city menu. We enjoyed a delicious dinner of French onion soup with a fantastic crust and no sogginess, steak and halibut were cooked just right. They also made sure to accommodate my allergies. Dessert was yummy to finish out the meal. Plus they offer a nice variety of tasty wines. Highly recommended and it was so relaxing.
