I liked the food but I felt it was a bit pricey. Good taste of Peru — specially the Ceviche

This place used to be really good and one of my favorites. Ever since they changed ownership the customer service has really dwindled down. The food quality has gone down too. I went with my mother and her steak was severely salty. I thought she was exaggerating until I tasted it myself. Its as if the steak was coated in salt. Our appetizer of choclo was missing the cheese they normally put on it. I wasn’t pleased with our latest dining experience here and unfortunately maybe now its time to find a new Peruvian restaurant to frequent. It is a bit pricy too, for both of us with no alcohol and just one entree each and one appetizer it was $95.

We came for the pollo a la brasa that the other location had, but the server let us know that it’s no longer served here. We both got the Lomo Saltado with Tallarin, my green one is with a lemony verde sauce and his was a cheesy. The food was delicious and you even get free breadsticks! We went on a not so busy weekday and a nice young man checked up on us to make sure everything was okay!

Prices: 7/10 (we paid almost $30 a person per plate and that seems a high.)
Food: 8/10 (the other Lola’s is known for their pollo a la brasa which isn’t served at this location anymore!

Nice place – tasty veggie noodle based saltada. Generous portion, nice flavor.

Husband had their beef stew – cultural difference? As he would have preferred not to have the meat still on the bone in his stew and couldn’t figure out why it had a side of rice when it was basically a piece of beef with a bone on a bed of mashed potatoes covered in more of a gravy than we traditionally think of stew.

We tried some sides that were fairly disappointing and I would definitely forego these if I were you.
Corn nuts were very sparse and just the large corn kernels that I had in my saltada not seasoned or cooked special. Fries seemed like what a home cook can get at the grocery store, but not cooked demonstrably better than popping them into your oven.

Staff were lovely – attentive, kind and happy to help.

They give you bread sticks at the start of the meal – those aren’t very inspiring, either. Hard on the ends.

Our friends seemed to enjoy their meals. I’m afraid I didn’t get pics or descriptions from them.

Amazing Peruvian restaurant! Very polite and courteous service, perfect ambiance, and great music—plus live music on Friday nights. The ceviche and lomo saltado were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

Yucca Frita appetizer and we shared a big steak. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The best Plantains are from Colombia. Nice to know. The green salsa was the absolute best. Send me a gallon. We had a great time!

When my #bestie and I arrived, it was very empty… After the 2nd request of bread sticks and butter, the sticks were not fresh but reheated.
It took me 10 years to visit this location.
The beans were not cooked thoroughly, some were still hard to chew and over salted.
I took the fried fish balls home and gave them to my upstairs neighbor and there was a hair inside the batter and fried.
I’d rather travel to the Van Nuys site than Glendale.
At least in Van Nuys the fast food restaurant is not snotty nor dark or so empty.

We went to celebrate my friend’s bday on Halloween weekend. We had a great time, the severs were dressed up adding to the fun vives. The food was good, a bit better than ok, but not the most delicious I have had, I think the service was missing the punch, Peruvian ceviche can be delicious, the one I had was just ok. I also tried the Lomo slatado, it was good too. The service was lacking, we all got our meals at different times. Overall, I will give it another try.

After reading the reviews I had to come here. My first exposure to Peruvian cuisine is through Mark Weins YouTube and IG channel “Migrationology” . In particular, Peruvian ceviche, which looks different from the standard Mexican ceviche that I love so much. I found this place which was walking distance from my office, and got here early. Matter of fact, on a weekday around 11:45AM, I was the first one in. I was pleasantly greeted by a server named Jared who was super friendly and outgoing. Another gentlemen brought me some olive garden style bread sticks, and 2 dipping sauces. One sauce was a mayonnaise mixture that was delicious. The other was a green sauce that had the tiniest bit of heat. I ordered the ceviche mixto, which was one of two available ceviches on their lunch menu which was cheaper than their dinner menu. $12.99 versus $15.99 I believe. My food came out in about 7 minutes, but I was still the only on in the store. My first mouthful of ceviche was pure Bliss. I had a piece of white fish, a Kerbal of roasted corn, a sliver of red onion, and a bit of the “leche de tigre” which is the sauce mixture of lime/lemon/seasoning dripping off the seafood. The dish actually comes with both steamed corn kernels, and roasted corn kernels, to add a bit of starch to the fresh seafood. Also on my plate was a dollar pancake sized cut of sweet potato, also steamed to perfection. It was a perfectly sweet starchy addition to an otherwise very clean, citrusy refreshing dish. I did get an additional 2 breadsticks to go with my plate of seafood, which was just an amazing combination. The 2 dipping sauces, the soft bread, the clean and crisp smelling and tasting seafood , the brightness of the red onions, the crunch and aroma of the corn kernels, all added up to one of my favorite lunches I’ve ever had on Brand Blvd. And since I work here, I literally eat at every establishment south of the 134 down to the Americana on Brand. I found a winner here. 5 stars.
