We shared a salad and French Dip – everything was delicious. The staff is friendly and effective, They really pack people on and it’s noisy and crowded, but that just means you’re in the right place!

The host was unsmiling as we walked in. Enquired if we had a reservation (we didn’t) and just gestured us to follow him to the table. No smile. Didn’t say welcome.
The food was above average though the pepper sauce that came with the fillet mignon au poivre was weak and overpowered by mushrooms. I had initially thought they gave us mushroom sauce by mistake.
We also had the grilled calamari which was tasty. The calamari was cooked in a tasty sauce – too bad we were not served any bread to enjoy the sauce. Other reviews here mentioned that the bread was complimentary but you have to specifically ask for it. I wish our waiter had offered or mentioned the bread. We also provided feedback to our waiter and about the weak pepper sauce. He merely shrugged and walked away. That made us feel like unwelcome and bad for trying to provide feedback (as opposed to complaining).
The deco and setup of the restaurant was lovely and reminisce of a traditional French restaurant. Pity about the service. This is a classic case of good hardware, buggy software.

We’ve been dining here for years. Have never had a meal which hasn’t been delicious and the service is always the best. The escargot are tender, never rubbery, in a decadent garlic butter sauce (great for dipping bread). Truffle Mac and cheese irresistible even for me (lactose intolerant), and the crab cake is always fresh. Steak frites and haricot verts are a wonderful combination. A busy local restaurant service standard American food:sandwich , pizza, burger, pasta with a touch of French /European cooking. It was busy even at 2 pm in a weekday afternoon .
It’s not particularly delicious, ( our order of grill calamari was cold ), but it’s a place nearby to dine out. The outdoor patio/side walk seatings look casual and comfortable .
We ate inside. Table was clean. Setting was classic . However, our server forgot to offer us the complimentary breads. And we had to ask for options of different dipping sauces. Our water glasses were empty. We had to call for water refill. The bus boy reach crossing the table over our food fill our glasses. He should have moved himself to reach the glasses . The manager should give him lesson 101 : how to serve dish properly

Went for first time for mothers day dinner. They were very nice to accommodate us with last minute reservations. Drinks and food were excellent! Sliders were not cooked the way we asked, they were more on the raw side, but overall tasty. Fries not what I expected from a place called bar frites. Also spinach side mediocre. Thai Mussels a must try!

Bar Frites has always been a chill spot that’s great for the classics. The Robbiola pizza is simply delicious and very cheesy with great crust, the Leeks Pernod Mussels were a fresh & hearty preparation making a great sauce. The Fish and Frites are so much fun, three piping hot pieces of an impressively delicious cod and a light marinated fry complimented with lemon and the herb remoulade. The frites here are fantastic if the restaurant name wasn’t enough of a tell, the frites go great with the Mussels and the bed of frites that comes with the fried cod is the perfect parring .

This was pretty good. I went for a business lunch. I ordered hangar steak medium, and it was over. My associate ordered pasta and she said it was a bit oily.
I’m only dinging them 1 star because overall we enjoyed the food and would return, so no need to overreact.
The dessert and coffee was very good. The atmosphere was the best part. We felt very relaxed, the service was prompt but unobtrusive, and we were able to enjoy the setting. We went on a good day so we opted to sit outside, which I really enjoyed.
Price-wise it was a tad over for what you get, but again, I think within reason. I enjoyed this and would return. I could see this potentially being a really good date spot.

I LOVEEEEE this place , they literally have everything you yummy craves . The Shrimp Tacos , Fish Tacos , Chicken Club , Fish Frites & Clams are the best of the best . The bartenders are 5 STAR , I love Patrick – He makes the best cosmopolitans EVER . If you are considering stopping by , do yourself the favor !
