Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Circa-1950 fast-food chain for counter-serve burgers, some stacked with multiple patties.

Bad Food, Slow Service
My spouse and I have been trying to find a good burger in Mandarin. WhatABurger is not one.
We first went the week it opened and they were working through their system. We saw three orders, including ours, being given to the wrong customers. The food was, ofcourse, substandard but, they deserved another chance after they got themselves sorted.
We tried again and arrived around seven one night and were the only ones there. Still our food took almost twenty minutes to prepare.
When we got it home we found the fries were only half full (Photo included). The burger meat was unseasoned and grisly and the tomatoes mushy and paper thin. Don’t bother with WhatABurger, they set the bar low.
Finally, I gave them three stars for service because our cashier Analisa, was terrific.

We stopped by for the first time today, location was clean and super cute, service was fast, milkshakes were good, burger patties are pretty thin/small but they were good. Lavonda who is the operating partner was working the front counter- and I just have to say she was amazing!!! I would go back just for her service! Seriously, I don’t think anyone can beat her level of service.

The staff are so nice, upbeat, professional, kind, funny (especially @2am 1/25). The place is spotless, food fresh & delicious. Got me questioning my career choice. I think I’d rather work amongst these good ppl & environment. Your hard work is acknowledged! Great job!

I haven’t personally ordered from here but have done DoorDash deliveries several times. On a good day, I’ll get the order real quick but on any other given day, I wait about 15 mins to receive the order I have to deliver. The guy who is at the register, I’m not sure of his name but he is so sweet and attentive.

Had a fantastic visit to Whataburger. Went to the one on San Jose right off the hwy. The food was spot on. Fries perfect .. right amount of salt and crunch. But the best part was Keisha. The friendliest person I have had at a whataburger ever !! Keisha needs a raise. Keisha kept checking on us , extremely friendly and a truly happy soul. I will definitely be back.

I actually love this location! The food is always fresh and their Dr. Pepper always tastes like Dr. Pepper! I’ve had issues at other locations. The people here definitely work hard and they’re always very pleasant when I come! They deserve all the financial blessings!

The female taking my order was really nice so i definitely liked that. I waited bout 12 minutes for my food but it didn’t too much bother me because I figured it was going to be fresh. Well the chicken was good. The fries are old and nasty unless it’s the oil then change the oil..I asked for regular ketchup when she asked and they gave me spicy…I asked for a medium meal and they charge me for a large…didn’t realize until I received my drink….when I was handed my food I was not spoken to just handed me my food and closed the window and they carried on with their conversation…yea customer service has gone down everywhere not just here it’s sad…

Stopped by this Restaurant today for lunch. The Associates were very friendly and helpful. We got our food quick and it was hot. The burgers were good and the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh. I always get great service here. The restaurant is always clean and they are always wiping off tables and sweeping as Patrons leave. Recommending this store highly.

I’ve definitely tried to give Whataburger my business on numerous occasions and every single time, I have been completely disappointed. The food is OK but their service is the worst. I have never sat in a Whataburger drive-through for less than 15 minutes. It’s called fast food for a reason. You guys should learn from Chick-fil-A and other companies who do things right in a drive-through. On top of that, they’re just petty! On numerous occasions, I’ve had employees that got mad at me because they didn’t listen to my order and they got my order wrong and then when I confronted them about the incorrect order, they acted like it was my fault, even though I clearly stated what I wanted. Tonight was the final straw and I’m never going back. I ordered almost $20 worth of food and I asked for a little side of their chipotle sauce and instead of them just giving it to me they quoted me $.40 for the sauce. Then when they brought back a quarter I asked why it was a quarter change from a dollar instead of $.60. She said “oh, it was actually $.75.” Gone are the days when people actually assume responsibility for what comes out of their mouth and they actually stand behind a quote instead of just saying “oops, sorry my bad.“. Talk about petty! On top of that, it cost them more in credit card fees to process the $.75 then it would actually cost if they just handed it to you and said “thanks so much for your patience for waiting for 15 minutes for fast food, here’s the sauce for free, we apologize For our inept capability of getting to your food in a timely manner.” That would be what they should say but instead, they just decided to lose a customer so now I’m going to give them absolutely nothing. I will not be back! I highly recommend considering the loop because they make a way better burger for about the same price And they actually have excellent service. Sorry Whataburger, but I’m out and I won’t be back!
