The food was good. Everything was cooked well and the ingredients seemed to be of good quality.
We got the kanpachi crudo and the beef tartare. The crudo’s main flavors were pear and truffle. The combination was unusual for me so the first bite was strange but I enjoyed it more on the second bite. By no means was it bad, just unfamiliar. It was fun and the fish was nice and fresh.
The beef tartare was by far my favorite dish of the night. It was quite pretty and tasted kind of like if a classic beef tartare and a beef wellington had a baby. It had some mushroom mixed in with the beef sandwiched between 2 layers of puff pastry. The bottom layer had a bit of cheese and the flavor balance was quite nice. The meats were all tender and soft; I didn’t find any bits that were sinewy or tough at all.
The bread served was a pretty nice brioche-like bun. To me, it was buttery and flavored enough that it didn’t need the extra butter on the side. The only downside was that it got a little bit tougher after it cooled but it was still fine.
For entrees we got the scallops and hot lobster roll. The lobster roll was a bit heavy on the butter for me but that is more of a personal preference. I likely would have liked the cold version with mayo more. Both were solid though even if they didn’t wow us as much as the appetizers did. The entrees felt pretty standard while the apps just felt more creative. We might get only appetizers next time we come haha
Overall everything was tasty and we’d come back to try the octopus and other apps.
Went here with my wife for a date. The waiters (bussers?) are very nice and attentive. The only thing I’d say they were slow on was water refills :(.
We got fillet mignon, prime steak. A bit sad that not even one side is included in the price but oh well. We also got mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. Steak was amazing and mashed potatoes were decent. Neither my wife nor I were a fan of the brussel sprouts. We also got calamari and Caesar for our starters. No complaints on those and generous portions 😀
They accidentally delivered us another tables steak such we didn’t realize until later. So, we got to keep that + our orders
For dessert we got the hazelnut tart (dark chocolate). It was great though a bit heavy if you eat a lot. Still delicious.
My main issue with this place was seating. I wish we got a booth seat or something cuz we were in the open and surrounded by groups who were very loud . The restaurant overall was very loud.
The calamari was delicious. The server was able to get us in and out quickly because we had an event to go to, but we were very pleased with everything. Very highly recommend.
Lobster roll can be had hot or cold. Served with chips but they were nice enough to sub. The bread was amazing. Service was really nice but a bit slow and they forgot food. Didn’t diminish the good time!
I visited during a weekday lunch hour, and the place was packed with downtown Boston business crowds, but it never felt too noisy. We were seated on the second floor, which was comfortable and had a nice view. For families with kids, the first floor might be a better option with easier access and a livelier atmosphere.
Overall, a great spot for brunch or lunch in the area. I’d definitely come back!
We had made a reservation for an early dinner, but as the rain began to fall, we arrived early, before our reservation was confirmed. In our haste, we hadn’t checked the start time of dinner. When we approached the manager, who I believe was named Tim, we asked if we could still have the dinner menu. To our delight, he went to speak with the chef and went above and beyond to accommodate us. It was an incredible and wonderful gesture that made our experience even more memorable.
The service was impeccable. Our server was incredibly polite, professional, and helpful. Despite being a bartender, he managed to check on us throughout the evening. As we were leaving, he stopped by to inquire about our satisfaction. This attention to detail and genuine care for our experience were truly commendable.
The food was simply divine. The bread was great, but I still can’t get over those Brussels sprouts. The sauce was rich and flavorful, the crunchiness was perfect, and the seasoning was spot on. For our second course, we had clam chowder and octopus. The chowder was creamy and thick, while the octopus was delicious. However, I would suggest grilling the octopus and serving it on top of the accompanying vegetables to enhance the flavors. Nevertheless, it was still a great dish.
For our entrees, we had pasta and tuna. The tuna was cooked to perfection, and the only suggestion I would make is to serve the sauce on the side so that guests can add it to their liking.
The cocktails were equally impressive. We had amaretto sour and gimlet, both of which were tasty and refreshing, especially on a rainy day in Boston.
Overall, this restaurant was a great choice. The excellent customer service and the even better food made it an unforgettable dining experience.
Thank you for making our visit so special.

Unfortunately, the rest of the food was disappointing. The lobster bisque was oily with a strange aftertaste, and the grilled shrimp had that same flavor. The mashed potatoes tasted boxed rather than fresh. We also ordered a hot fudge sundae, but there was no hot fudge, just chocolate crumbles, and the ice cream tasted sugar free.
To make matters worse, both my husband and I had terrible heartburn afterward, which really affected the rest of our evening.
While the service team is doing a great job, the food quality was inconsistent and left us disappointed.
