Gluten Free Life & Travels
Mexican restaurant near Clemson U. with gluten-free options! We stopped here to have a quick bite to eat. It’s a very informal, order at the counter restaurant. The food was okay.

It pains me to leave a less-than-stellar review… but I feel that it’s important that the restaurant receives honest feedback. The first time I came to this establishment was really good. The service was nice and I felt like the price point for the food I received was decent. I was very happy, and so I came back again a few nights later and ordered substantially more. The service was still good, but I was very surprised to find mold on my Tres Leches cake slice. They did bring me another one, which I appreciate, but I didn’t know if it was from the same batch (they’re made as a large sheet cake and cut into squares) so I still didn’t feel safe eating it and ended up throwing it away. I know that with food items that are soaked or damp that can happen, but the food should be dated when it’s made (which these were not, at least not on the individual containers) at the very least so the restaurant knows not to serve it to customers and run the risk of mold developing. It might also be a good idea to leave the cake slices in the refrigerator rather than the display case. I’m fairly sure the display case is still technically refrigerated at the bottom, since they keep cold drinks there, but it might not be enough to keep the cake at the proper temperature. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be a repeat customer anymore when I can’t trust whether or not the food I’m eating is spoiled.

If you haven’t tried this place yet you are missing out! Chips are fresh, warm, perfectly salted, and you can choose from the salsa bar. $5 margaritas hit the spot – ask for the spicy mango. Do yourself a favor and try the FISH TACOS on corn tortillas! Amazingly fresh, crisp cabbage, spicy mayo. You will not be disappointed.

I can’t recommend this place enough! The food is delicious! They have a homemade salsa bar (yum!), really good margaritas, outstanding queso and the best refried beans I’ve ever had! And on top of that it’s family owned with top notch service. Great people and great prices! Will definitely be making this a regular on our trips to Clemson!

This place is a hidden gem! Hands down the best Mexican place in Clemson by far. Look no further, you have to come here! I had the best nachos and grilled chicken quesadilla I’ve ever eaten in my life. The owners and staff are incredibly sweet and hospitable. They have margarita flights! What more could you ask for really? The price and portion sizes are perfect. I cannot say enough good things about this place!

ive been coming to this restaurant since it first opened in clemson and have always experienced amazing customer service and delicious food. I went in on October 2nd and had one of the worst restaurant experiences ever. The guys working were super rude and short with me and the food was awful! I’m not sure if recipes changed or what is going on but I was in about 2 weeks before than and everything was normal. Not sure whats happening but I will not longer be coming to this restaurant
