Palm Sugar is always a treat!! We’ve eaten here many times but we had our wedding lunch here and Cecile and Albert made the event even more wonderful and unforgettable than we could’ve ever hoped for!!
We were ten people and they accommodated our group spectacularly by arranging a booth for us to take photos (as pictured) and a long table for our meal, even printing out little namecards for all of our guests. They had a vision right from the start for our special event and helped us plan it and execute it to perfection.
Needless to say, the food was phenomenal as always. We ordered curries, noodles, rice dishes, tapas, and more. Everyone raved about their meal. They also have an excellent selection of homemade drinks and wines. Cecile and Albert consistently came by to see that everyone was satisfied and to clear away any dishes. They even surprised us with complimentary noodles, refreshing drinks, and even a dessert! It was all so delicious and very kind of the staff. We felt so celebrated and welcomed by them. We couldn’t have asked for a better lunch, thank you to Albert, Cecile, and all the staff at Palm Sugar!!

We walked in on a rainy day and were very politely asked to wait while a table was made ready for us. Fortunately they had space and were shown to an excellent table by the host who was so nice and helpful. The service here really is top notch, and the food is equally fantastic! Considering the high level of service and quality of food we were more than happy to pay the very reasonable bill. We don’t live near Winchester but we’ll be back to eat here every time we visit in future!

I walked into this cosy Thai restaurant in the city centre after my gym closed early for the Christmas holidays, and I’m so glad I did! From the outside, it may look simple, but don’t let that fool you – the food here is absolutely bursting with flavour and authenticity.
I ordered the Khua Kling (Spicy Southern Chicken Stir Fry) and it was outstanding. Packed with lemongrass, galangal, lime leaves and beautifully balanced spices, it delivered that perfect fiery heat while still being incredibly flavourful. The minced chicken was well cooked, full of depth, and paired wonderfully with fragrant jasmine rice.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the service is kind, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you get. If you love traditional Thai cuisine and don’t mind a bit of heat, this place is a must-try. A truly delicious and comforting meal – I’ll definitely be back!

We ate here at Chtistmas last year when visiting the Christmas Market and enjoyed it so booked again for our visit this year, noting rebranding. Also lovely to find a special discount following the reopening.
Impressed from start to finish, from the smart modern attractive decor to the food and great service, with the male waiter Alberto? deserving special recognition for his thoughtful, attentive and welcoming manner. I loved the chicken satay which my husband and I shared and my main of beef redang. I think we will be back again next December!

We had a wonderful meal at Palm Sugar. The food was absolutely delicious – full of flavour and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried exceeded our expectations.
What made the evening extra special was the outstanding service. The staff were warm and attentive – we were very well looked after from start to finish. It was the perfect evening all around, and we’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

We visited for lunch and were warmly welcomed. My wife chose the Bento Tapas set 1 and I opted for the set 3.
They are served in impressive bento trays so all dishes are served together. My wife’s choice was chicken green curry with jasmine rice plus chicken satay, peanut sauce and vegetable spring roles. My choice was honey & sesame duck, ginger chicken stirfry also with jasmin rice plus thai spring roles and a tamarind sauce.
The food was all fresh, hot and very tasty, especially the honey duck which was delicious!
The bento tapas sets are a great way to experience a range of flavours at a good price and with plenty of food for a lunchtime.
We had a glass or pinot and rioja which were both good quality wines. I opted for a desert, and the lemongrass creme brulee was perfect, being light and very tasty. Good coffee too.
Overall the lunch choices were wide and varied and the quality of the food, plus the service from Cecilia and Albert (hope I’ve got the names right!) was top notch and good value.

We went for my friends baby shower, the staff were so lovely, they let us decorate and were so kind and accommodating! Jan and her team were so welcoming and friendly and even held my baby so I could enjoy my lunch! The nicest experience and the loveliest food, they also bought us out a complimentary congratulations desert for my friend. Would definitely go back. Great mocktails too!
