This place is awesome! The food is amazing and always looks so pretty. Service is great, every time I go the servers have been helpful and very friendly by recommending rolls or making sure I have everything I need. Definitely recommend!

5 star service and food! We had planned ordering in for a family members birthday today as we have a toddler and Sushi Kawa was the only sushi (only) restaurant open in town. When we went to order through skip the Restaurant was not available. I called in and they provided exceptional service over the phone, despite having a heavy order load. Food arrived exactly as ordered with some unexpected Extras (I probably missed them on the menu description but still amazing to get more than expected!) Delicious, fresh and top quality. Thanks again for going the Extra mile it was truly appreciated. Recommend and will order again.

We unfortunately drove past this fabulous sushi restaurant far too many times and we regret all of the amazing sushi that we missed in our short time in Vernon. My wife and I are sushi connoisseurs and we have had sushi from Vancouver to Edmonton to Toronto and this is easily my second favourite spot of all of them. I also make my own sushi, so I really appreciate quality sushi.
Sushi Kawa quickly became our date night place every Friday and we always ordered extra for leftovers the next night. We even stopped going to our other favourite spots, as nothing compared to Sushi Kawa after we tried it!
Sushi Kawa has creative, delicious rolls, wonderful, friendly staff and too many favourite rolls that it caused us to have to pick and choose every week what we wanted. Now that we have moved away, it is the one place that we really miss and we might never find another place like it again. Don’t drive by it, give it a change and you will be hooked!
This level of sushi in little, old Vernon must be appreciated and supported! Check them out!

It was really busy, but we got a table right away. The prices are very reasonable and the food is good. We got a veggie roll and a mango paradise roll with soy paper, chicken teriyaki, rice, tea, veggie tempura all for $48 + tip.

Had a disappointing experience today. I ordered the Chirashi Donburi..I have had it before with fish cut in smaller chunks but today got slabs of fish. I know it may be petty to some but I wasn’t expecting to have to use a knife instead of chopsticks for my lunch. I think the chef was being lazy that or not familiar with a sushi knife. Called Manager she did not care or care that she could potentially lose my and my families business. Very disappointed. In response to your response ..I did not say your food was yucky ..I said that the chunks of fish were too big to eat with chopsticks as they were huge. Have no fear though i did bring it home cut it in smaller bite size pieces and make my own poke bowl. Thank you for your response but I feel in the future I will try other local Sushi restaurants as there are several good ones for my family and friends to try Yuki Sushi in Lumby is an example. You waitress that answered the phone was lovely it was her suggestion for refund or chose a different option so I have no complaints about her as that would have been the proper response to keep a customer, just disappointed in your response. Good luck in these tough times. Ps anyone that knows me would know I would never demand a refund.

Reasonably priced authentic and deliscious sushi. Location is right on HWY 97 in the heart of downtown Vernon. Parking can be a challenge during busy times. There’s no parking lot only street parking available. Love the ambiance and decor of the restaurant. I like that the kitchen is fairly open. Booths are available for more privacy. Sushi was served quickly and tasted fresh with a lovely presentation. Tea and Sapporo beer amongst many other options for drinks are available. Service was super friendly. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a sit-down restaurant and a great dish of sushi in Vernon.
