Hawaiian dishes such as kalua pig & lomi salmon, plus beer & wine, served up in a casual setting.

Food was really good! There are 6 in my family. We ordered 1 super plate, 1 mega plate, 1 spam fried rice, a 12 piece crispy wontons, a cookies and cream pie, and mango cake. We were absolutely stuffed and took home a whole box of leftovers. My favorites were the Kahlua pork and grilled chicken thighs. The pie and cake were also amazing.
This place is a classic hole in the wall. You are paying for a large quantity of tasty food, not fabric napkins and candles. The lady working the front of the house was polite and friendly. She kept our drinks topped up and the food served quickly. My kids who were initially hesitant to give it a try were excited to go back. My teenage son even asked if we could go again tomorrow to get more pie!

Tasty and authentic Hawaiian food. Enormous portions. My combo plate had four chicken thighs and about a half pound of kalua pork along with rice and mac salad. All delicious. Warm service. Room is plain and drafty.

This place has its charm for Hawaiian food/grindz. The place is not located in the best of locations and has broken window on the entrance door at the time but don’t let that stop you from getting some awesome Hawaiian interactions and food sections from the inside. The employee inside definitely was from Hawaii and had all the mannerisms of it. I missed it so I loved it. For food I went something simple and got spam and eggs. It was good but next time I will go for the lau lau.

On my initial visit to this establishment, I opted for the Chicken Punahele Mini Plate, a novel culinary experience for me. The chicken’s tenderness and flavor were exceptional and left a lasting impression. However, the rice was unremarkable, similar to what one would expect from a Chinese restaurant. While the macaroni salad was satisfactory, I felt it lacked the desired depth of flavor. In terms of customer service, there was a notable lack of it. Upon entering, I was unsure of what to expect, and the initial individual who greeted me merely pointed me towards the menu. When I expressed my desire to dine-in, the response was a simple “okay” followed by a quick departure. The atmosphere was also unsatisfactory, with a sense of uncleanliness and an overall unkempt appearance. I enjoyed the chicken, but it was not enough to warrant a return visit for me.

Amazing food, service, and atmosphere! Clean place, the food is delicious, and the staff is very nice. Being from Hawai’i this food definitely reminds me of home! Glad to have a taste of home and a little aloha in Alaska! Definitely recommend!

I love the atmosphere in this place. I arrived in between meals, and it felt like sitting in a family home, very cozy and friendly. The food is excellent, and at a VERY great value. The flavor of the pork and chicken were on point, and it goes so well with the rice and Mac salad. There are several poke options as well, and the spicy ahi was so delicious and well balanced. I wish I had known about this place sooner, and will definitely be back!

Staff is friendly and I absolutely loved the macoroni, Pulehu chicken, and the Teri Beef!! I recommend getting the combo plate with both. We were visiting from out of town and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for some good Hawaiian food in Anchorage. Don’t let the outside fool you, the food is well worth it!
And if you have room for pie, the cocunut and chocolate are both outstanding.

One of our favorite places to eat food from home when we visit Alaska. I can never remember the location if it’s Mountain View or Fireweed, but look for the truck with a big photo of Diamondhead (Mt.Le’ahi ) painted on the side. We always get a big steamy bowl of love ( aka saimin) and can get hot mustard so we love it. portions are impossibly huge, we love the sampler platter so we can get a taste of everything.. kalbi and katsu, Teri chicken, the best Mac salad, musubis… and just like most great Hawaiian diners, the decor is simple and cheerful .
