First time coming here and got the fried fish, mac & cheese, and rice with gravy. The fish was deliciously seasoned with a crispy and flaky breading. The mac & cheese was immaculate, like Granny just made it for Sunday dinner. Will definitely be coming back to try more of their menu.

Great service, not great food. We visited the food truck and we got chicken tenders and fries. The chicken was so tough we couldn’t bite it or pull it apart(as if you were eating leather). The fries were clearly freezer burnt(looked like someone had left their peeled skin in the fryer).
I’m not sure if we got food that sat under a lamp for 12 hours or just bad luck.
We were super excited to try this place, definitely not worth $30 and I Would definitely like a refund.

What can I say?……. The food is on point! The people are amazing, and they have never let me down! I have eaten so much from this place I’m ashamed to put this review…. But if y’all like food done right and not staple food like everywhere else, gotta try this place! Soul rolls and wings are my go to. But man o man that pineapple bowl hits!
Recommended 10/10 and if Morganton has a yearly best, I’ll be voting SFI!

This was the best “soul” southern food I have had since 1978! Everything was fresh, seasoned just right, and made with love! We met the cook, and he is amazing. He crafts food from his heart, just like his great grandmother taught him to do it! You have to try it.

I went to this place for the first time yesterday. Man the food was great. Fish , Mac and cheese and the pintos was on fire. I had to got her a bowl to go. The staff was great. Met the chef and heard his story. Truly a testament that , you can achieve anything if you desire to. Keep up the great work. I’ll see you very soon.

One of the best food trucks around is now one of the best restaurants in town as well! Everything made fresh and the customer service is top notch. Great for to go or to sit down, they will take care of you. Highly recommend the hamburger steak with peas, mashed potato’s. Everything they serve is delicious, never had a bad meal or even close! Usually enough for me to eat 2x off one plate.

We came across this little place by accident, but the food is fantastic, everyone friendly, and the atmosphere outstanding. I’ve never experienced food quite like this! The owner and his son, the servers, all came out to just say hello, how do we like the food, and can they get us something. Locals stopped in, and one by one, they all said the same thing.. . “You gotta try their Pineapple from the grill!” We will be back.

Y’all.. This place is the REAL deal! Not only is this the BEST food in Burke County, they are the kindest people in Burke County. I serve with Oak Hill Fire and Rescue located beside their restaurant location and they donated a TON of absolutely incredible food just to say thanks for our sacrifice. Every time we go in, they are ALWAYS so happy to see us and have gone above and beyond to make sure we have the BEST experience possible, more than once or twice! Don’t drive by one more time, check their menu on Facebook before you go, and go support your neighbors!

The food is amazing! The atmosphere is friendly and inviting… I always go on Sunday because the food makes me think about how I used to pull up to my great grandmas for Sunday dinner after church… it really does feed my soul! Tony, the owner is amazing! The diner is a new addition to soul food island and they’re still ironing out the details and wrinkles of that piece but the food truck never misses! You have to have a soul roll if you haven’t yet!!! All updated info is on their facebook page as far as contact info and hours of operation until they have the opportunity to update their info on google…
