Golden Rule – Georgetown, TX on OpenTable

We also grabbed a couple appetizers. The brussels sprouts were perfectly crispy with a nice sweet glaze and the shishito peppers had great crunch and just the right amount of heat with a chipotle sauce that tied it together. Cool little spot with a laid back vibe that’s perfect for a low key lunch with the bros.
We booked the private event, space, and they gave us the entire day to decorate because there wasn’t another event. that was beyond helpful, and they provided table cloths and napkins, and honestly everything we needed. The food came out so swiftly, and when we needed it, and staff was consistently walking around getting any extra plates, and just being amazing for the event.
The bartenders were absolutely awesome, and the drinks were quick, delicious, and exactly what we wanted. I absolutely loved their death by 1000 berries mocktail, but people could not get over how awesome the Lavender Haze was 10/10 recommend.
We will absolutely be returning again, and highly recommend anybody in Georgetown to come by or host a gathering, reception, rehearsal dinner, etc. The prices are great, it’s definitely a Georgetown staple!!
But, for the price you are paying, it is a pretty great elevation in the quality of cuisine.
The service was phenomenal, especially considering that we were sat about as far from other people as possible. Waitress was perfectly attendant and very friendly.
Atmosphere was great. The place is welcoming and well kept, but not *too* fancy so you can come as your authentic self.
Tons of intimate seating and private booths. The mafia would love the layout.
If you are looking for a culinary experience that is more fancy, but not too expensive, is delicious, and intimate. This is a great option!
Our most recent visit for happy hour was on a Wednesday and we were pleased with the specials. I usually get the grilled redfish trying to be a bit healthier and it’s always delicious. The rice, though, seemed much more buttery and rich than usual which would be good were I not trying to eat a bit cleaner.
Also, I love the al dente broccolini, but the serving was very small and I never understood why you’re not provided with a knife for your meal.
My husband had the turkey sandwich which he enjoyed, and was able to change the side to a small salad for no charge.
Was initially seated inside and it was dreary. There were people at the bar but there were zero televisions and very low music. I quickly changed my mind and decided to sit outside. There were people with dogs and there was a hint of some pretty good music (ie. Fiona apple). Thats a good vibe but that’s about all I got here.
Service was painfully slow. The server was inattentive and forgot to bring staples such as water and neglected to check in after food arrived. I’m not looking for a doting waiter but how about some basic service?
Appetizer was okay. Drinks were interesting but just okay. I ordered a turkey club which came in around $17. It was toast with lettuce, tomato, bacon (tasty) and processed turkey. I could have made this at home for much less. Come on man! Plus they were stingy in the turkey. It was a sad sandwich.
The inattentive waiter was quick to bring the bill and ask for an undeserved tip.
Not coming back here. Lots of potential but lots of pretentiousness as well.
I don’t recommend any of the steak dishes- they were overcooked every time. Even after sending the initial dish back, the replacement was still overcooked
