Upbeat cafeteria offering familiar Southern-style comfort grub such as collard greens & fried fish.

The food was pricy, but worth it. The staff behind the counter was super friendly. The lady servicing the lobby was a bit cranky, but it was similar to getting on your grandma’s nerves. Food was served in to go containers with plastic ware for both dine in and carry out. There was a great sense of community between the folks in the lobby and the staff. We even met a wonderful man named Dr. Lawrence who gave us the history of the family business. Overall a great experience. We would definitely return.

Lilly’s is a great soul food restaurant. The service is excellent and everyone is friendly. The restaurant has a lot of nostalgic decor and a great vibe. The sites and smells reminded me of my childhood. They have a great selection of delicious menu options to choose from and the food is delicious. I will definitely be going there again soon.

This place really has it all. A beautiful fusion between a vintage & modern appeal. Classy, quiet & an immensely welcoming environment. Much of staff — especially the server at the time — had a doting, maternal disposition that made you feel right at home. The food is incredible & evidently made with love. Especially those candied yams — WOW. My family & I thoroughly enjoyed our experience here.

Finally came here after a lot of friends recommended it to me. The interior was super cute and cozy! The seating looked very comfortable and stylish and the atmosphere was warm. Upon entering, we were greeted by staff and the line of people were all friendly. I got the meatloaf dinner with a side of ribs and green beans and Mac & cheese. It was an absolutely delicious and satisfied the soul food craving I had. Every single person working there was kind and happy. I’ve never been to the South but this what I imagine southern hospitality is like! I felt welcomed and everything was 10/10. I can’t wait to come here again and dine in next time 🙂

I meet my sister for lunch. We decide on a halfway mark between Boston and New York. I stumbled across this gem on Google maps.
I wasn’t disappointed. The food is fantastic. The food was seasoned perfectly. The restaurant was super clean. The counter help was a little rough with no personality. The food and Sheila B the dining help was everything.
The pork chops were so tender and seasoned with flavorful gravy. The mac and cheese was bomb , the honey-glazed chicken was delicious. I order almost everything on the menu.
The cakes were delicious also.
I’ll take the 2-hour drive again really soon.

It was my son’s birthday so we went to eat dinner there. I have never been to the restaurant per se but I’ve had their food many times and it was delicious. So on this Sunday evening we decided to go sit down and have dinner. First, I loved the atmosphere. Everyone there was very pleasant. Ms Sheila seated us (hey)! I informed the cashier that it was my son’s birthday in passing and that’s why we were there. That’s all I needed to say, she greeted him and asked him if he would like some ice cream and my son said yes, Lord have mercy, during dinner someone came to ask him what ice cream he liked and he told them. After dinner, they brought him the biggest strawberry shortcake ice cream, with whipped cream and cherries on top! That made my day. They took the time to cater to him, needless to say I helped him with the ice cream. I ordered with my eyes, so I had to take a lot of food home. My kids enjoyed the fried chicken more than anything else. We had a great time. Thank you.

Food is usually good but tonight it was just really disgusting. I asked the lady if that was all the chicken she had. She really said yeah I didn’t even acknowledge anything else. I had to say I paid $35 for a plate of hard chicken and over sweet sweet potatoes. The drink was like they poured a whole bag of sugar in it. The only thing that was edible on that plate was the macaroni and cheese and the cabbage. I also felt like she was judging me because I was a white woman. She showed me no type of respect and I don’t find that respectful at all since the money I’m paying for was a lot of money I was really in the mood to have some good soul food to share with my family, but I came home to nothing but garbage you guys need to better your customer service skills and not serve hard ass chicken . And rock hard corn bread never again will I eat at this establishment. Which is sad because I really enjoyed the food when it was fresh !!!!

When I 1st arrived in CT a few years ago, Lilly’s was my go to soul food location. Recently, it’s food and customer service has gone down the drain.
During my recent trip, my interaction with the hostess was good. But the people serving the food were extremely cold and seemed unhappy the entire time. I got the honey roasted chicken, Mac and cheese, and the green beans dinner. With a side of banana pudding, it came out to 25 dollars. That seems a bite pricey for food that’s been sitting on the line. When I was leaving, the food was basically shoved in my hands out the door.
The food wasn’t great, extremely different then I remembered. The chicken and green beans were ok but the Mac was super runny. Previously, it was the best thing on the menu. Now, it’s soupy and lacks a ton of flavor. I hate that it’s declined and I’m sad to say it’s not worth the price anymore.
