Anyway 4/10!
I know complaining here wouldnt be heard much because they dont care anyway, I need to complain on ICE for them to really care. But I am going to let that slide and complain here.
One of the E5 Sgt, specifically the female Asian Sgt (apologize for race mentioning, only to specify), is super rude and such a toxic to other younger junior enlisted there. And you can also definitely see how she really hates her job. Her aura really makes other junior enlisted around her feel scared and negative, resulting a lower quality of service.
As an officer from another BDE who came by in the morning trying the food, I was genuinely sad at how these junior enlisted felt so pressured and yelled at by her.
At some point when they were about to close, there were still a lot of food on the platter and one of the junior enlisted was yelled at for giving extra to other soldiers lining up. The fact that most of these food will be thrown away anyway, not allowing soldiers to get some extra or being a little more generous is really disappointing and wasteful because at the end of the day, all these food will be thrown away.
I know it is with blood, sweat and probably tears you have to deal with cooking inside the kitchen and you want everyone to equally get the same amount without having to cook often, because technically saying, the less you give to soldiers, the less you have to cook, which promotes laziness and less morale to junior enlisted and even soldiers who come to eat. However, this is not how you increase the quality of DFAC and attract more soldiers to come because they are excited and “want” to be there. Like there is no spirit in serving these food when I see the servers at their feet. I know pay isn’t great, you have to wake up so early and go home really late, but believe in yourself. This is what you chose, come back to the very reason why you chose this work and put all your passion to serve everyone with smile and greetings. You will feel different, trust me. How would I know? Before I joined the Army, I was a waiter, and believe me, I know how it feels.
No matter what DFAC, food is food and theres no such trash food until you waste it and throw them all away. Ghost had quality in both food wise and service, but if this keeps going on, it’s going to follow the next generation of junior enlisted cooks and affect dfac and the soldiers coming over to eat.
Please consider to have more self control and stop yelling when it is not needed. You can be a great leader or NCO without instilling fear or yells. It’s an era where leadership needs to be strict, direct and strong yet listen, understand and composed in manner and interaction.
1. They went back from that nice dfac back to the old nasty one.
2. Food is less than stellar. Just go to courage inn.
3. They carb load every single plate and skimp protein/main course which is usually more bland than standard dfac food.
4. It’s too small for the amount of people that go through to eat there.
5. There’s like 5 or 6 abandoned cars in the parking lot. Probably more than I’ve noticed.
Just don’t eat here it legit sucks. Any 5 star review you read for this dfac was wrote by ghost dfac personnel don’t believe it.
Update 25SEP2022: Dfac is still awful. Dirty dishes in tray/silverware organizers. This place is an absolute disgrace. Only eating here because Courage Inn is closed.
Yesterday they were finally opened and guess what, never once I saw a FORK (something so simple yet important), majority of the drinks machines are broken (better just throw that away than putting it there as decoration), and only ONE MEAT choice per visit. What tf? Surprisingly they have a bunch of different types of carbs and ALLOW people to have as much carbs with only ONE MEAT choice, and here the Army expect soldier dont get fat and get buff by eating proteins from my own pocket money because bruh, one piece of pork chop? Not even two choices? Come on, use common sense.
It doesnt matter about the budget or the amount of people eating or cooking, every DFAC should at least have some sort of STANDARD, and this is beyond LOW STANDARD. I was already expecting something great from Ghost and as always, at the end Ghost is trashy and doesnt even worth my time coming here at all. I could use my whole BAS to buy a whole month worth of meal and I still can cook and eat much more than what they give out here.
If yall are not ready to open, just stop and throw the budget to fixing machines in Raptors or Courage Inn and move the rest of the workers there including provide a better bus that keeps circulating for the soldier. I drive so I am good and will I come back here tomorrow? Naaah. Waste of my time.
Even Courage Inn principle is You will never be hungry again, because they are generous and they even allow me grab some more to gos. See you never, Ghost. Im going back to Courage Inn and this is going to be up in ICE, so dont worry.
