I went on a pop up bar night when they recreated Family Guy Drunken Clam in the basement portion of the bar. It was actually pretty cool. Overall they did a good job. The beer was nice and cold.
My second time there I ate a nice dinner upstairs. Great atmosphere and great service. My sandwich was good, but a little dry. The whiskey prices are very high, especially in this declining bourbon market. But they do have a good selection.
Overall this is definitely a great stop.

West End Johnnie’s was a convenient pre-Bruins game stop, especially since we could easily reserve a table online for 15 people without having to call. The food was solid, classic bar-style fare, and the location right by the arena was a huge plus. We did end up eating a bit longer than planned and finished shortly after the game started. By that point, the place had mostly cleared out and the servers stopped checking in, which was a little frustrating and worth noting for the future. Overall, it’s a simple, basic, and easy option for a pre-game bite for any party size, with the reservation system being a big win.

Probably one of the best salmon dishes I have ever had! A soft center while still maintaining a crisp, flavorful crust. The sauce was tangy with a slight heat. Perfectly balanced with the steamed bok choy and lemon drizzle. 10/10. Was here for a Denver Broncos playoff game. Perfect atmosphere for a sports lover who enjoys high-quality food! I’m looking forward to coming back, as should you!!!

Classic restaurant. Got the clam chowder, it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it was OK. For main meals got steak tip dinner and a portobello sandwich. The flavor was OK, a bit underseasoned so it just fell flat a little. Food seemed very fresh, all homemade from scratch and cooked perfectly. Portions were huge, prices are a bit steep! Got in without reservations, you have to enter through the Drunken Clam. Wait staff was very polite and did a really good job. Overall I would go again.

Stopped into West End Johnnies around 9pm on a Saturday for a drink before hopping on the subway. The place was completely dead, which was surprising for that time on a weekend. The Celtics and Bruins weren’t playing, so there wasn’t a built-in crowd—but we had already tried two nearby bars that were packed, which is how we ended up here.
What really stood out was learning the kitchen closes at 9pm. On a Saturday night in a city where bars are open until 2am, that’s pretty shocking. It feels like they’re aiming for an upscale vibe, but the lack of customers suggests it’s not landing.
Boston is largely a blue-collar, rough-around-the-edges city, and this place seems to miss the mark on the kind of crowd that actually fills bars here. It’s disappointing, especially given how many better, livelier options are close by—which was very evident based on how busy those places were compared to this one.

Stepping into West End Johnny’s during the Family Guy pop‑up is like being transported straight to Quahog’s fabled Drunken Clam think glowing neon signs, red booth seating, and immersive sets like the Griffin living room, Stewie’s bedroom and the Channel 5 news desk. Themed cocktails like “The No No Noooo,” “Shut Up Meg,” and “Cool Whip” are cleverly crafted and tasty, and the “Eat My Junk” menu brings tongue‑in‑cheek fun with items like the Good Old Fashioned Value Burger and Greased Up Deaf Fries. Add in trivia nights, karaoke, and themed Easter‑egg sounds around every turn, and it pulls off an unbelievably playful, nostalgic experience that’s more than just a pop‑up it’s a fully interactive Family Guy party you won’t forget.

Went in there as “Steve Weave” there’s not much in there but it was fun by the way despite the food is overpriced, just remember me by when I am around, Steve Weevils may never know when I’m going to stop by next. Family Guy experience is alright in my book

Excellent dinner with my family on Christmas Eve Eve. The only issue was the kitchen botched our appetizers by combining everyone’s clam and oyster orders so we had to figure out who got what. Not our servers fault. For some reason our servers helpers served the wrong plates to each person every round. Great food and atmosphere.

We visited their speakeasy, and it was an absolute blast! The drinks were wonderfully nostalgic, transporting us back in time. It’s definitely a must-try if it’s still available—an unforgettable experience!
