Buzzy train-themed spot serving modern New England cuisine & cool cocktails amid vintage decor.

It is a typical American restaurant . Surprisingly, lots of families were eating there . The truffle fries were delicious and crispy. The service was great . Only minus one star because the steak came out rare ( cold inside ) ( supposed to be medium rare ) . But the manager and staff were very friendly and kind . It was my daughter birthday. So they offered a free dessert which was very kind of them .

We enjoyed drinks, apps and dinner here before going to a concert. I had one of their barrel aged drinks which was great. We shared oysters, arancini and the Tuscan chicken. We had a booth w nice view of the bar & our server was friendly and attentive.

Disappointed with the experience. We were there last night… Sunday night of Presidents Day weekend. This is the second time we’ve gone. The restaurant was at about 1/3 capacity. Our waiter, although very personable and having a quirky sense of humor, seemed to be stretched a bit thin. The first time he came around for the drink order, one of our party was using the restroom. We asked him to come back which took quite a while. We eventually got our drink order in plus one appetizer. The drinks came quickly, the appetizer took longer than expected. We then ordered 4 entrees. Mine was the Bourbon Steak Tips, medium rare. They came out VERY RARE/FLESHY. I called the waiter over and he agreed that the were not as ordered and took my plate. Unfortunately the 3 others had their meals and I was left with nothing. He didn’t offer to bring me a salad or anything at all to tide me over. The kitchen was pretty quick to get my plate back, but unfortunately the meat was still RARE. He took it back… again leaving me with nothing to eat. By this time the others in my party were almost done with their meals. My meal came back again, and although the meat was finally cooked as ordered, it was lukewarm. I did not complain again as I was now in a foul mood and just wanted the experience to be over. Nothing was offered to me for my inconvenience, and nothing was taken off the bill. I think they could have done better.

We recently dined here and overall had a decent experience. However, our service was a bit underwhelming. The server didn’t seem as attentive or engaged as we had hoped, which impacted our overall experience. We understand everyone can have an off day, but it didn’t quite feel like the level of service that usually warrants a full 20% tip. That said, the atmosphere and food were still enjoyable, and we’d be open to giving the restaurant another try in the future.

I wanted to try some clam chowder and this spot was one of the few that was open at 10am. The chowder was phenomenal; I should’ve ordered the bigger portion. I followed it up with some crab cakes which were delicious. Made me take small bites to appreciate it fully. I went in on a Sunday morning and the place was not busy, but traffic grew when I left. Service was fine; environment was great.

Can you say SLAPALICIOUS???!!
Honeeyyyyeeee that Eggs Benedict Hollandaise sauce was a symphony on my tongue! Oh and the Hibiscus Mimosa was the winner by FAR out of all that was on the Mimosa Tree.
We made reservations for this past Sunday and noticed the table next to us had this beautiful Mimosa tree so we decided to do the same, you get four choices – Pineapple Juice, Pear, Strawberry Lemonade and Hibiscus were our selections.
The Steak Tips and Eggs were scrumptious (as witnessed that the plate was clean) and the Belgian waffle hit the spot. Also the Acai bowl was enjoyed as well. Not a bad item did we have at our table. The bacon was a little over done but they replaced them as soon as we said something. Service was efficient and the ambiance here is so nice. Great spot for brunch! I will be back.
I will say this stay away from the Pear Mimosa it didn’t have any real flavor.
Respectfully Reviewed.

Nice restaurant, ample seating, wait staff is very patient and helpful. Nice decor. Food is delicious. We ordered Mac n cheese and Chicken fingers for kids and they loved it. We ordered firecracker shrimp for starters, it was delicious. “Roasted Atlantic Salmon” was perfectly cooked and the white cream sauce was sweetly yummy. I also ordered “Lobster Roll” which again was very nice but the lime juice in the bread was on the higher side and was overpowering the whole lobster taste. 1 less star for that.
They have great selection of cocktails which I didn’t realize as they gave only one drink menu for our table. I realized it after ordering my beer. I wish the wait staff have given separate drinks menu or informed the guests about their cocktail selection.
Parking is available on street and in the parking garage.
Imp: right now it’s mandatory to show your vaccination card before entering, so please don’t forget it at home.

The staff was very accommodating on seating our party. The wine and beer list was good, the problem was the food. My burger was overcooked, the bun was stale & the onion topping wasn’t very tasty. The fries were good but very small so you had to grab a bunch for each bite. Two others had the grilled ham and cheese. The bread was warm but the contents weren’t.

Rail Stop is a large stunningly beautiful casual bar and restaurant with good food and atmosphere.
The last time I visited was a very busy Saturday night, and had I not been here prior having had very good experiences , probably would have given it 3 stars.
The food here is normally very good, especially for the prices. On my last visit I found the food to be incredibly fresh, but lacking in flavor. The tuna in the tuna tartar was plentiful and delicious, but was bland. The salmon burger was kind of dry and also bland, as was the regular burger. The truffle fries are outstanding. I am not usually a fan of the “fake” truffle oil dishes, but their truffle fries are outstanding. They were served piping hot straight out of the fryer. The service was lacking this night, despite a very attentive restaurant manager who was actively watching everything and speaking with diners.
As I mentioned above, this place is enormous so on a busy night the Rail Stop is literally serving hundreds of people at a time. The food will likely be average and the service will be below average. Again, not for a lack of trying. If you really want to try this place at it’s best, I suggest going for lunch or on a weekday night. If you are ok with the scene over food/service, I definitely wouldnt hestitate to go on a rocking night.

Love coming here, the ambiance is nice. The food is great and the price is right. I like to go check out New a balance Global Store next door then come for lunch or dinner at this restaurant. The servers are energetic and always lively. I really like looking at the bar it’s very cool. This place is good to come with a date, family, or friends. The calamari is so good, it’s my favorite!
