I was told this is the better soon tofu restaurants in the area. I am glad I chose this Korean restaurant because it looked legit. They serve rice in the stone pots; the patrons are actually Korean; their side dishes actually taste good.

I got the dumpling / mind soontofu, but there were only 3 dumplings. How sad. I should have gotten beef soon tofu. I also got an order of kalbi, which was pretty good. It was served over a bed of grilled onions on a hot sizzling plate.

The servers are Korean ahjummas, and they do take their sweet time serving everyone. Actually, there was only one poor lady serving the entire dining room on a Saturday afternoon.

Plenty of parking in the lot
Credit card/Apple Pay accepted
No outdoor seating

I hate Tofu, but interestingly enough it wasn’t so bad. The combo special had a great portion for sides and entree. The atmosphere was calm and chill. Nice please to eat on a rainy day.

Went with a group of friends and was pleasantly surprised by how fast and efficient the service was. The ambiance is pretty basic—just tables and chairs—but it didn’t bother us. I ordered the beef tofu soup and really enjoyed it; the flavors were satisfying and the sides were decent. If you’re craving tofu soup, this place is a solid choice.

Stopped by Cho Dang Tofu in Lakewood, located in a busy plaza surrounded by other small businesses. I ordered my usual meal that I’ve had at other Cho Dang locations, but this time the flavor didn’t hit the same. It lacked the rich depth I was expecting from the Nakdol bibimbap. The side dishes were also different. Notably, the usual potato salad was missing, which is something I always look forward to. While I get that variations happen between locations, this one just felt off. What really bothered me though was the number of flies in the dining area. That’s not something you expect when sitting down for a hot, comforting Korean meal. It’s a controllable issue and made the overall experience feel unpolished. The service was excellent but I can’t help but be disappointed overall, especially given the potential this place has based on its name recognition.

Efficient: No
First-Time Friendliness: Yes
Would I Return: No

They were short staffed which is totally fine! My problem is NOT the fact that me and my mother had to refill our own teas, and water. Nobody checked on us once. At the end of the day not that big of a deal to us. The PROBLEM is at check out my mother gave a cash tip. The lady demanded my mother give more of a tip on the card or cash. My mom explained that the service was poor etc, and she tried to BULLY my mother into tipping more!!! This went on for FIVE MINUTES. They where speaking Korean so I was unsure of what was going on but once my mother told me and my mother added the tip to the receipt I grabbed it scratched it out and gave her the regular tip. Nobody demands a tip and nobody BULLYS a senior. We will never return and no one else should!!

The beloved soft tofu stew paired with stone pot rice is truly a treat, especially when hot water is added to the crispy scorched rice at the bottom, turning it into warm and satisfying *sungnyung* to finish the meal. You can adjust the spice level when ordering, choosing either mild or spicy. You’ll surely fall in love with the true charm of stone pot rice. This is a highly recommended soul food restaurant for those wanting an authentic Korean experience

If you’re looking for some good authentic Korean cuisine…… you’ve found the right place!

They offer from tofu- beef- chicken dishes!

We ordered a combo dish – tofu beef soup & beef short ribs. Also an order of bulgogi. It was definitely enough food for my husband, my little one and me.

They offer some warm tea and you have to request water. You wait to be seated. During lunch time is extremely busy! So if you’re hungry there may be a wait.

Everything was so delish we will definitely be returning back!
