Went in on a Friday night with a reservation. The place was busy, and service was a bit slow, especially bar service. I didn’t like my first drink, but they were kind enough to make another even though it arrived with the meal. Unfortunately, both entrees were overly salty, like extra salt had been sprinkled on top before serving. Once you got past the top layer of it , it was somewhat edible but something was off with the salt that evening. They did have gluten free crackers and also gluten free pasta was available to sub for pasta dishes.

That said, our server was amazing- friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond. He apologized multiple times about the drink b ing so delayed as the bar was back d up, he also removed both entrees from the bill which was totally unexpected and we didn’t ask that be done. They also surprised us with complimentary dessert for our anniversary, which was a really thoughtful touch.

Although the food and bar service missed the mark this time, the exceptional customer service truly stood out. W will definitely give them another try.

Great food, but be prepared to pay! The beef carpaccio was excellent, but came with just one piece of toast. We requested a second piece and were surprised to find on the final bill that we were charged $3. For a piece of toast. The filet bites with polenta were savory, and the pasta bolognese had a bit of a spicy kick. The chocolate mousse could have used a bit more chocolate flavor. Service was attentive throughout.

This was not our first visit and we have never had a less than great meal at Mark Tarbell’s place, but we revisited Tarbell’s last night for my wife’s 56th birthday and had such an unforgettable experience that I wanted to share. Our server, Victoria, was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and made the night special by, for starters, surprising us with an entire bottle of Veuve. The food was fantastic: Perfectly roaster fresh Chilean sea bass (catch of the day,) grilled salmon, carpaccio, and pulled mozzarella were all top-notch. Almost forgot the TALLOW frites!!! OMG, took us back to our childhood at Mickey D’s! As corny as this sounds, Tarbell’s made a simple birthday dinner into an evening that we will always remember. Highly recommend and will be back often.

5 Stars for this Paradise Valley gem. Sadly my wife and I are leaving Scottsdale we had our goodbye dinner at Tarbells.
Awesome Atmosphere quiet sophisticated vibe
Compliments to Shawn our waiter. Shawn is a great ambassador for Tarbells. Knowledgeable great listener and very service oriented
The food was outstanding. Caesar salad is a great flavorful presentation of an old classic. My wife had the bolognese. I had the very large meatball dish. These were the best we have had paired with wonderful Pinot and Merlot wine selection. Capped off by out of this world and Tarbells hand made cheesecake. It was a great meal and experience

Went to dinner with friends and can say I was super impressed! Excellent service all around with an extensive drinks menu and attentive, professional wait staff. I would come back just for the warm bacon candy frisee starter with the most perfectly runny egg on top, please and thank you! Everything else is a blur but all of our dishes were tasty and beautifully presented!

Atmosphere is fine and food well prepared, but they are all too salty for our taste. The portions are nice.
Would recommend getting drinks with your meal.

We went with friends for a holiday evening. The service was outstanding and the chicken dinner was one of the most juicy, delicious chicken meals I have ever had. They offered to serve a half and half when one of our party said she was torn between two menu items.

We had the caramel cheesecake for dessert and it was decedent!

Went to the award winning, Tarbell’s in the Phoenix Biltmore district, for the first time. Uniquely there’s the James Beard nominated Chef Mark Tarbell’s restaurant, next door to the Tarbell Tavern, and a wine store adjacent in the same shopping plaza just off 32nd street and Camelback. We ate at the classic restaurant, and really enjoyed their food. I started with Mikey’s Manhattan, and my friend had the Paloma, both very exquisite cocktails. We shared the Beet Salad, and the Cesar salads, then moved onto their Beef Carparccio. Everything was light, fresh and delicious. The atmosphere inside was bright, contemporary and inviting. For our main course I had the pan seared chicken with mashers, and my friend, the Halibut. Both were cooked to perfection! After paying, we went next door to the Tavern for a nightcap. It was much more intimate of a space that opened into the wine store. There was a full dining table having a private gathering, in the wine store section and a few Happy Hour groups at the bar. Prices on the menu were much cheaper than we just paid, but a simple American fare menu. We will definitely come back! Delicious and a fun evening trying Tarbell’s!
