Nicely located, cozy, and showing its age well. We were seated immediately on this weekday night. We’d heard about the restaurant and were eager to try it. Service was very good. The salad bar was good but the plates very small. Prices overall were moderate by today’s standard. However, the steaks were listed as “market price” so I’m unable to comment on them.
We both had the crabcakes which, unfortunately, were only average at best. The wine list was small but adequate. One should be able to find a good pairing, either red or white, to go with your meal unless you’re an oenophile. The key lime pie was pretty good.
A plus is that you can actually talk without having to raise your voice here… something hard to find today.
Next time we’ll try the steaks.

We had a pretty disappointing experience last night for our Valentine’s Day dinner. The food was okay, but the service was very poor, even though we were there late and it wasn’t busy.

There were just 2 of us and we ordered prime rib, a steak, and an appetizer. First, we waited over 25 minutes from the time we ordered until any food came out. When the food finally arrived, it wasn’t brought by our waitress, and it was cold. We let the server know that we never received our appetizer, and when it was eventually brought out during dinner, it was also cold.

The food itself tasted good, but it had obviously been sitting for 10–15 minutes after cooking. The people sitting next to us had the exact same complaints cold food and poor service.

This all was especially disappointing because I had heard really good things about this place from my coworkers. I usually love supporting local, independent small businesses, but I’m not sure if I can go back after this experience.

We had a reservation for 7 on a busy Friday night and they took us right on time. It was so busy! Despite that, our server, Candace, was calm, collected, warm and friendly. It was impressive. Food was great, we were served quickly and Candace was absolutely wonderful!

Not sure what is going on with New London House and the wait staff.. The food was fine but the service was horrible. We came in Saturday night we didn’t have to wait long at all the lady at the front was nice but once we got seated in the main dining room the waitress looked and acted like she was miserable. When I go to a restaurant I want a waitress that smiles and smells nice. The last few times we have been we had such a sweet friendly waitress who actually SMILED and you could tell she loved her job she was very bubbly. Some people just don’t belong in that line of work. Really disappointing.. I wish I knew her name bc if we did come back we will request not to have her.

Had dinner on a Sunday night. No reservation but seated without issue. Was informed online reservation option are coming soon. Noticed a difference between online menu vs in person menu so be mindful of that. Got the ribeye and wife got the filet. Both were cooked to our desired temp. Wished there was more seasoning as it did taste a little bland as times. Salad bar / bread and sides were all delicious. Service was fast and efficient. Would absolutely return!

My son is very picky when it comes to bbq ribs and he loved them. All 3 of my children loved the salad bar. The service was very good as well. We really did enjoy our dinner tonight.

Food was outstanding.
We ordered steaks and they were cooked to perfection.
Filet mignon was perfect,
8 oz. about 40.00
Ribeye nice taste but we liked the filet much better.
Salad bar and 1 serving comes with meal.
Very small Salad bowl and Salad bar difficult for some folks to access, BUT Salad was fresh and had a variety of items, including but not limited to cheese, tomatoes, olives, peas, beets, mushrooms, eggs, bacon bits, and croutons.
Roll’s were fresh and plentiful.
Meal came with baked potato and it was perfect.
Ice Tea was excellent.
The building and accessibility was not as good as it could be and we saw on 2 occasions customers having difficulty getting to their table and the Salad bar.
There is only a single bathroom downstairs which means you must walk up a flight of steps to get to another bathroom.
Plenty of Parking.

We love this place. I came a few times in HS and hadn’t been in such a long time and went a few years ago for my mom’s birthday and fell back in love. We went again this weekend and delicious.

It’s an old school steakhouse. Quality food without any pretentious attitudes. You can dress casually or nicer.

They take reservations, which I highly recommend. The cocktails are decent. They have a full salad bar and the only complaint I could have is its location. It’s at an awkward spot and the line can get messed up and people were bickering about who cut who on our last visit and I was like “I just want a roll, leave me out of this” and watched the drama from my place in line (personally this is on the restaurant to handle but I get it, they’re busy) and to be clear this is not a big deal and in no way affected our wonderful meal.

The steaks are tasty and large servings! I also love their salmon. Very good.

The food is absolutely delicious however charging a party of two that order their food to go a gratutity price for a party of 7 is wild. They do not tell that when you ask about the pricing either. The menu that is online is also outdated with it’s pricing.

I’ve been to New London House many times over the years. It’s gotten pricey like every other steak place. The food is good, but not worth what’s being charged. I’ve always enjoyed the rustic atmosphere and smell of the place. They have the tiniest salad bowls around.
