New London Steak House: A Legendary Dining Experience in …
Reviews
We both had the crabcakes which, unfortunately, were only average at best. The wine list was small but adequate. One should be able to find a good pairing, either red or white, to go with your meal unless you’re an oenophile. The key lime pie was pretty good.
A plus is that you can actually talk without having to raise your voice here… something hard to find today.
Next time we’ll try the steaks.
There were just 2 of us and we ordered prime rib, a steak, and an appetizer. First, we waited over 25 minutes from the time we ordered until any food came out. When the food finally arrived, it wasn’t brought by our waitress, and it was cold. We let the server know that we never received our appetizer, and when it was eventually brought out during dinner, it was also cold.
The food itself tasted good, but it had obviously been sitting for 10–15 minutes after cooking. The people sitting next to us had the exact same complaints cold food and poor service.
This all was especially disappointing because I had heard really good things about this place from my coworkers. I usually love supporting local, independent small businesses, but I’m not sure if I can go back after this experience.
We ordered steaks and they were cooked to perfection.
Filet mignon was perfect,
8 oz. about 40.00
Ribeye nice taste but we liked the filet much better.
Salad bar and 1 serving comes with meal.
Very small Salad bowl and Salad bar difficult for some folks to access, BUT Salad was fresh and had a variety of items, including but not limited to cheese, tomatoes, olives, peas, beets, mushrooms, eggs, bacon bits, and croutons.
Roll’s were fresh and plentiful.
Meal came with baked potato and it was perfect.
Ice Tea was excellent.
The building and accessibility was not as good as it could be and we saw on 2 occasions customers having difficulty getting to their table and the Salad bar.
There is only a single bathroom downstairs which means you must walk up a flight of steps to get to another bathroom.
Plenty of Parking.
It’s an old school steakhouse. Quality food without any pretentious attitudes. You can dress casually or nicer.
They take reservations, which I highly recommend. The cocktails are decent. They have a full salad bar and the only complaint I could have is its location. It’s at an awkward spot and the line can get messed up and people were bickering about who cut who on our last visit and I was like “I just want a roll, leave me out of this” and watched the drama from my place in line (personally this is on the restaurant to handle but I get it, they’re busy) and to be clear this is not a big deal and in no way affected our wonderful meal.
The steaks are tasty and large servings! I also love their salmon. Very good.
