I really didn’t want to have to write this review, being that I have been a faithful customer and my family has been a faithful customer for years. I did tell the manager that I would send him pictures or come up there to show him what had happen. First off, I ordered two spicy sandwiches and they didn’t have the decency to call me to tell me that they ran out of spicy sauce. So when I got up there, they said, it’s two regular sandwiches. So you wait the last minute and hand the meal to me and tell me the last minute. Hey, there’s not two spicy sandwiches in the bag, They’re two regular because ,we ran out of spicy sauce. Then when I got home, I realized something brown hanging from my sandwich. I opened up my sandwich and it was brown lettuce. I called and spoke to the manager, and he said, the reason why my husband’s lettuce was fine is because they pre made his and they made mine fresh and the oil turned my lettuce brown. That is absolutely uncalled for. I have been ordering here for years and this has never happened. My husband’s sandwich and mine was the same temperature. So you’re saying that you pre make your sandwiches with the lettuce and have it setting out? I’m just glad that I didn’t eat my sandwich because I would have definitely been sick. The manager did say that I could come back and he would remake my sandwich, or give me a refund for the one sandwich. Once again, i’m so sorry I had to write this, but there’s no excuse for this.

Every time I would come to town I had to have Golden Skillet! It appears to be under new management who has the restaurant looking amazing! Very clean in there but man the food quality isn’t the same. The food was very hot and fresh which was a great thing! But the taste of the mac n cheese and baked beans were awful. I would consider revamping the recipe or removing those sides altogether. The macaroni salad was good. I always get the chicken but I may try the fish next time

We went here for lunch and got the two piece snack with a roll. It was fresh and tasty with good size portions. Although a little small the dining area has plenty of tables. The employees were very nice and helpful. I can see why they’ve been in business so long with a good tasting product. Well be back for the chicken.

Chicken is okay, quality of chicken has gone down plus but over priced for 8 piece family meal.Cold slaw had too much mayo, potatoe wedges were good. First time ever going here and it won’t be my last. The Golden Skillet in Richmond VA on Janke Rd is awful now. Go in there in get a Big Skillet if you want to you won’t be able to eat it. It so tough. I really believe he is refrying the food he has already cooked. Since the original owner left these owners don’t care how they prepare your order. And they are cousins.

I was looking forward to my meal, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The food quality seemed different from what I remember from the old Golden Skillet. I found the restaurant’s chicken to be less appealing, and I was surprised to learn that there was a charge for an additional roll. Overall, I think there’s room for improvement, and I may consider exploring other dining options in the future.
