So this was my first time here. I chose this spot randomly because they had calamari which i love and I was visiting the Schenectady area. Anyway, I treated my dad & his fiance to lunch. We came after the carnival. My dad & his fiance were the only ones who liked their food. I did not like mine or my drink. The service was OK. So, this rating is based on my food specifically and my time there. Other than that, I’d say its pretty chill and the scenery is nice.

This review has been long overdue! I’d first like to start by saying if i could give this place of business 0 stars i would. I’ve been here twice & both times were absolutely horrible. The first time, service was -6/10. i understand that it gets busy, However, there is no reason anyone should wait an hour for a drink. My mistake was giving them the benefit of the doubt due to the crowd. Second time around i realized that it’s just the way they service. My friends & I paid a decent amount of money for a show that we got to see all but five minutes of. I was unable to see the stage so i used a stool to get a better view & I was told i had to come down and which i complied. After about 10 minutes, i was approached by a different security who told me that i had to leave because i stood on the stool. It’s been a few weeks &i still can’t understand why i was escorted out when there really was no issue. I was not even intoxicated because by that time, the bartender had only served us two drinks after 4 hours. i would highly suggest management take some time training their staff on better customer service. I’ve been to a handful of clubs in queens & this has never been an issue even with twice the crowd. Please take into consideration how awful this experience was that i had to create a google account to leave a negative review.

First the driver give me the wrong food, come back with my correct food , just to have a dating tag for their food in my food. The tag is dated Monday I ordered my food on a Friday I wonder how old is this food?? I asked for a refund & the bartender told me in order to get one the driver will come get the food like it’s not garbage anyway. I DO NOT RECOMMEND

Bang Mary (fish) has no taste. Seems like it’s only seasoned with flour, salt and pepper. Basically got 1 whole plantain that cost couple cents for $8. Also ordered a drink that I never received. So yeah, the experience was not great. If I had to choose a restaurant I would not come because of the under 4 stars reviews but I came with a few people. Needless to say, I Would not return.

Food was good, pepper shrimp was 10/10, plantain was 10/10, but the fried rice was okay, a little dry! The waitress was really bad at doing her job, had a baby with me and she didn’t even offer a high chair, she barely spoke, didn’t smile not once, and when other female customers walked in she kept looking at them up and down, really weird awkward experience and worst experience I had in a restaurant, wouldn’t return

Tropics is by far the worst night club i been to in New York. I went twice and will never go back. My first-time attending was with a few friends for a normal night out, we entered, they checked our ID and give us a wrist band. An hour had gone by, and my friend had to use the bathroom, the bathroom at tropic is beyond filthy so he had to go home to use his bathroom which was a block away. When he returned to re-enter, he was forced to pay a re-entry fee. Never in my life have I ever heard of a re-enter fee at any clubs. This is really a sad attempt of extortion and is totally unacceptable.

Worst place to hang out. Went there for a few drinks everything was ok until I stepped out for some fresh air. I Stayed outside for approximately 2.5 minutes or less when the bouncer asked me to pay a fee to re-enter with a active wrist band, when I declined to pay,the owner and said forth bouncer became verbally and physically aggressive to myself and friends of mine that was present.

Staff and Management is in need of serious training on how to treat customers. Food is very horrible, I had to wait for over an hour for what seems to be food straight out of the microwave. They keep raising their prices while the quality decreases. I would not recommend for anyone!
